So they are both the same, just one shop is for tuning and the other is for parts ? Just looking for a good source for upgrades.

No way, by no means are they the same. I was giving you their proper names, not their functions. They both do parts and installation, but AMS also recently started doing their own flashes just this month. Both are a good source of upgrades. AMS will have a lot of parts that they made themselves whereas AMSTuning will have just about every Evo part you could want, but not their own fabricated stuff.

There's also plenty of vendors not named AMS where you can buy parts or receive tuning.

Oh ok thanks War. I had talked to AMSTuning once and i didn't like the service i got from them, but when i said that one of the older guys had vouched for AMS and their people. Thats when i noticed that there were two AMS, performance ands tuning. Hey War how did that Truth Sqaud thing turn out ?

Obviously you are the real slim shady Pheonix, you have the most stock parts .

Well, I still haven't heard of this AMS Performance you keep mentioning. The real AMS is AutoMotorsports. They have the 9.41-sec shop car and the 800whp customer car.

I had to drop out right away, because a couple of guys with agendas kept attacking me. I also started picking up some more sponsorships, which further remove my objectivity, so I left it to the others. Regardless, I'm still doing what I've always done, which is mostly in line with the Truth Squad charter.

Yeah if you go to Atlantic Motorsports down near the bottom of the page for the vendors their front page on their site say AMS. Then again under Gold Vendors it says AMS also.

Sad to hear about the politics, i thought that it might actually work well. So your going Pro huh? Got some good sponsors there, ya must be doing something right ! So what are they sponsoring you for, DRAG ?

I don't know if this is considered going "Pro," but I have acquired some very good sponsors, all of whom I have full confidence in and whose parts/tuning I'm happy to display and recommend to others.

The sponsorships aren't for a particular type of racing. They are just for what I do overall - my racing, my involvement in the Evo community, and my exposure (thus exposure of their parts/tuning).

I think he's talking about AMS's new website, www.amsperformance.com

Vendors

I cannot speak to AMS in the mid-west but Atlantic Motor Sports in Gaithersburg is TOP NOTCH. They obviously have not reached the level of acclaim that the other shop has but it is only a matter of time. They are serious enthusiasts, GREAT to their customers and getting some much deserved notoriety with their cars in national magazines. I am sure either one deserves all the props they get. You can buy parts from anywhere, I care more about the caliber of the person and their attention to detail. I spend my money with people I think they deserve the support of the EVO community. IMO

Atlantic Motorsports is great and is one of our awesome DcEvoClub sponsors, but it's unlikely that they will reach the acclaim of AMS, because they don't race and only have shop cars that are setup for show with a little power while AMS has the fastest and quickest Evo in the country. That sort of thing is not Atlantic Motorsports' focus.

I am not arguing the reputation of Automotosports. They are obviously at the top of the EVO food chain. I am simply saying that they all start somewhere. I know AMS in G'burg is going to be expanding in the future and taking on new challenges with regards to tuning. As for HP and cars, I don't think the HP #'s mean a thing. Is it sustained, streetable and who is driving it. We all know people with 300 hp cars that are turning much better track and strip times than less experienced owners with BIG turbos. I was only trying to clarify that both of their reputations should proceed them because they are both quality shops and deserve the respect of our peers.
