TBE: Frankenstein combo vs. Same vendor

I will have 3" helix dp, 3" UR testpipe, 3" RnR catback , HKS carbon/ti muffler.

I was just wondering which one may be better as far as performance and reliability. Would it be same? or better for either one?

It's the same either way as long as the mixed TBE parts fit together properly. That's not important. You just have to be sure that the parts you're mixing each fit properly on the IX and that they each connect to one another seamlessly.

I can understand the first 3, but why are you choosing a separate muffler? The RNR cat-back doesn't include a muffler?

RnR sells their catback with hks carbon/ti.
Looks fantastic. That's why I chose that.

Fit and finish will probably be the only issue with mixing parts. I am just going with a full Buschur TBE with magnaflow muffler when the time comes.

It does cost a lot. Like $300. It certainly wouldn't qualify for the Warrtalon/Zeus bang-for-the-buck mod.

THe RNR is not loud IF you have Ryan put on resonators. I had him put on two. Next to someone who had a Greddy/ti on their car, you couldn't even hear mine idle. However, the resonators will make the exhaust A LOT heavier, so if weight reduction is your goal, think again. If cop reduction is your goal (especially here in California), go for it.

I don't really care about loudness.
I'm happy as long as the exhaust doens't sound like a fart can.

i would say that gains may be great with a mix n match approach, however, with a full TBE from the same vendor the results should be well documented and you will have predictable gains.

as long as the results are the same in the end...go for it!
