Trade in evo 8 for 9

Whats up guys i dont know what to do and i need your help? I have an 03 bby evo 8 and i want to trade it in for a elictric blue evo 9, but i know the dealer ship wont give me nothing for it? I have the gsr evo 8 and it has 57,000 miles on it, i am really close to also doing the timing belt and fixing a transfer case leak. I
love my evo to death but not sure what to do. One of the main reasons i want the nine is beacause of the color and the valve timing and the 9 turbo. The dealer ship will probably give me 21,000 for it if i am lucky and i still owe 28,000 what do i do.

You still owe 28k on your 03? Fix the 03 and keep it. If you took all the extra money you would have to pay for the 06 you could make your 03 into a beast. That's just my opinion anyway.

I'm a dealer and I'll definitely tell you if your dealer will give you 21k for your trade in, they are doing you a huge favor. But the fact that you are upsidedown on your loan will truly hurt you in the long run. Trading the car in at this point means you will have to roll that 7k difference into the new loan and then you'll really be paying. Take the general consensus advice and keep the car.

you still owe $28K and you're considering trading? You must be nutzz ...You'll be lucky if they even give you over $20K for the trade...you'll be upside down at least $7K+.....in my opinion, that $7K+ could get you a nice turbo kit & engine rebuild...I say "KEEP YOUR CAR!"

I have an 03 with all the options and 22K miles and delaership only offered me 21K. No offense, but you'd be lucky to 18K from a dealership. Keep the car.

Dealership will not give you $21k. The current auction price is around 16-18k. Given your mileage and transfer case problem, they're likely to quote you value close to the lower end of the average.

I think there's better things you can do than painting the car a different color. If it was me I would probably just fix the car, get some springs, rear sway bar, wheels and add some cams. With the rest of your mods that would be a decent set up.

Did you just buy the 03 and is that the reason that you are in so deep on the loan?

Hell, I'd love to trade my 03 in for an 06 as well, but I dont want to end up paying more per month than I am now - so I'm just going to enjoy my 03. I am thinking about refinancing tho. Since it was first big loan, I had to take a bad interest rate.
