Just got my Evo windshield replaced with a Lancer windshield. My mechanic got the rear mirrior on and everything and it was only $175!!!! And it comes with the sun shade at the top!!!!!!!

Don't replace your Evo windshield with another Evo one unless you want to get on a waiting list and pay $$$$

This is what I might have to do as well. My insurance deductable is $500 If I could go with a reg lancer winshield for $175. It might be worth it.

What's the difference between the two besides price??

Go to one of those people on the side of the road that fix chips for free, I see them all of the time. I've done it once and they just want to advertise, just say thanks and be on your way. Late.

The difference is that the Evo windshield is much thinner than the lancer windshield which as you know makes the Evo windshield a hell of a lot easier to crack. Also the clips on the rear view mirriors ar different but if your mechanic is smart enough he can make the Evo clip work just fine on the Lancer windshield.

PLUS you get a bonus with the sunstrip on the top of the Lancer windshield!!!!

No sorry I don't know. But there was another thread here and someone mentioned how thick it was. Just do a "windsheild " search and you should find it.
Good luck

I have had the winshild repaird twice. The first time the damage was smaller than a quarter. After the repair you couldent see where it was. I would have to point it out to you.

The second time I had a chip that turned into a crack. (it happend last weekend) I took it to the same auto glass repair shop and they did the "repair"

What they did was drill the end of the crack and then fill it. So now the crack shouldent spread further. I stlll can see the crack. All the damage could fit inside a dollar bill.

So now I want to get a new windshield. My insurance did the glass repair for free, to replace the windshield I would have to pay my $500 deductable. Or just pay out of my pocket.

How much is the EVO windshield??

I just got my new EVO windshield. The waiting list was two months long!! I put in the request at the beginning of November and had the windshield by the end of December.

If you're smart you have a $0 glass deductible on your insurance. Anyone in AZ who doesn't have a $0 deductible on glass is crazy!!!

But I must say, I am very impressed with the EVO windshield and how well it's held up. I do quite a bit of highway driving and mountain driving with friends. The front end of my car is destroyed by rock chips, but the windshield lasted an amazing 61,000 miles before I got a chip in my line of sight.

Certain insurance companies will just pick up the tab for the repair, regardless of your deductible. I have a 500 deductible, but they took care of the bill. Maybe they figure it's better than driving along and being blinded from some light refraction and crashing the entire car or something else bad happening from running around with an injured windshield.

I had a rock pop out from under a garbage trucks tire and scrape across my windshield putting tiny scratches it. The crazy thing is that it hit my windshield the same instant that i heard the pop so i cant even imagine how fast it was going....Iactually ducked when it hit. It scared the **** out of me, and it I was going a little faster it would have hit me in the face because my window was open.

Depending on your Insurance, most will fix for free if just a chip. I had a chip in my windshield for 6 months and the day I went to sell it, it spread across the whole windshield
