Most of the time, a windshield can be "repaired" if the chip is smaller than a quarter (some may be able to do a bigger one, this is just the one's I've talked too). If it is "spider webbing" you may need the whole thing replaced. You also may ask your insurance company who they suggest. They know it's cheaper for you to have a repair, rather than file a claim, and they ended up paying whatever your deductible does not cover. I would check some local glass dealers first, then ask your insurance. Sorry to hear.

Hopefully it can be repaired because getting an Evo front windshield is a PITA.

I can't remeber specifically, but I believe if they find it you will not get a sticker. Most of the time the inspector will not see it if it is that small anyway. One of the joys of living in inspection happy Virginia.

You should try to get it repaired before it spiders. My windshield cracked from a rock on the highway and spidered the same day. I still have to call my insurance company about it.

I've gotten a small crack repaired from one of those places before. They'll actually drive out to your house. Anyways, the repair mainly prevents the cracks from spreading. It also visually gets rid of the crack about 80%, so you'll still see it at certain angles if you pay attention. It does a really good job in my opinion.

I hear that our car windshields crack and chip really easily. I wonder why that is? I guess they're cheaply made.

I had the same thing happen to me on the 31st.

At first is was a very tiny chip with a carck.

Now it 5 inches long. I had to just sit there and watch it grow as I drove home.

In arizona, by law, the winshield can be changed by the insurance company without the risk of the rates going up. They believe it to be too much of a hazard and driving risk to have a cracked winshield, has to be a certain amount cracked of course.
