EVO High Maintenance Costs

Besides tires and break pads what are the high cost of maintaining the EVO? Oil change every 3K isn't that big of a deal. 5 qts of Mobil 1 is only 20 bucks at Walmart and the labor is free if you do it.

When making a budget its always wise to overshoot. Maybe snow tires if you live in snowy areas? Rotors/pads/oil changes/filters/alignments/

Depends how you treat your car. Could me minimal, but if you are a speed nut like most of us...
Clutch, maybe TC, maybe new tranny, amongst other broken things.
My maintenance costs are prettly low, Its my modding costs that are high, I just can't stop...stupid turbo

Depending on what it is they will for sure try to use it to hurt you, but i have the free maint. so i am not too worried about it. I change it myself until one of my free schd. maint. come around. the first one they had sched for me was 7500 miles thru mitsubishi, i'm like screw that, i am going to do it myself every 2500, and then get theirs when they recommend it

Mitsu gave me a free 40,000 mile scheduled maintenance program, or more I can't remember. Oil changes are free for me every 5000 miles, plus some other things. Late.

If you are a complete fool and replace the ADVAN A046s for street driving, your costs will be high. The oil changes are pretty cheap, 26$ or so with the Mitsubishi filters. Then you want to flush drivetrain fluids, which are usually every 15,000 miles, depending on how you drive your car. You can find replacement brake pads that perform better than stock for less money, also, as well as rotors.

Basically don't be foolish with your maintenance and the costs aren't bad. Unless you mod.

Notice a pattern here? Treat your car well and maintanance will not break you. Beat the living $#@! out of it and be prepared to pay lots of $. I fall squarely in the first category. I have fun with my Evo without launching it or bouncing off the rev limiter every time I change gears.

No problems as long as you keep your oil/filter, etc. receipts and keep maintenance date/mileage logs.

Well first thoroughly void you're warranty by adding some mods to get to around 300 hp at the wheels ( only the biggest p*ssies can keep it stock for long).

Then beat the sh*t out of it for ~ 30k mi.

By this time if the clutch, t-case tranny, shocks and 2 sets of tires and brake pads are not shot try adding some more power mods... 350-400 at the wheels should do it.

Still have some $ left for rent or to buy your wife, kid or GF. something nice? A quick fender bender, twist of the MBC or trip to the drag strip should nip it in the butt.

Fast cars are $. Evos are particularly evil because they are attainable but will deteriorate quickly if driven hard and not maintained meticulously like one would on an "expensive car" in the 70-80k range.

You pay to play.

Treat it nice and everything should be good, if you drive it like you stole it, you're going to have some maintenance fees.
