A few Evos out there do have odd misfire CEL problems. My 03 Evo was bought back as a lemon in early 05 for an 0300CEL they couldn't fix.

everything will be alright as long you get everything fix at no additional cost... my question though, why would you change your oil at 1k miles ? I just don't get it.

mother nature has caused me $1,200 worth of damage on my whole driver side of the car. So don't feel bad since Satan is taking care of your car. I just changed my oil yesterday at 2.3k miles. Only problem with my car is 2nd gear! too notchy and grinds randomly. I'll be soon bringing my car to satan myself.

well i would change my oil too at 1k miles but i dont care for my evo now till i get a new one...I was gonna change my oil at 100 miles then 500 then 1000 then 2500, i would have done that just in case if there happen to be any minor metal shavings inside the motor for whatever reason that crap wouldnt be floating around inside ur motor doin damage....

Sorry to hear that bro. It is very very weird what happned to you. It there a possibility you put diesel or 87OCT by mistake?

I haven't heard of any MR going that bad that soon. I know a few guys with nearly 30k on the engine and running big power(one has 400WHP plus) and no problems.

Please, keep us posted, that is a very isolated case I think!

the solution is called Pennzoil GM Shyncromesh, it is a yellow one quart bottle with a pointy black tip/lid, it cost around $5 and you can get it in just about any Autozone,Pepboys, etc. Your grinding will mostlikely disappear. By the way, you will need about 2 quarts

Good luck!!

Yeah, I figure i'd wait a couple of thousand miles first, although the 2ndgear being notchy/grinding has been going on since day one, then bring it in. I'm thinking the syncros are going to have to be replaced. Sorry for going off topic with this thread

Wrong, it's called take in your car and get new syncros for free. I take advantage of mitsu like that, as should everybody with a warenty.

That sucks about your exhaust valve needing to be replaced, but i like it when i get stuff replaced on my car, it makes it feel more pure...

esspecially after driving those ****ty loner cars.
