We are working on the warrantee and such with these cars.

As of right now MMNA does not honor the powertrain warranty of a car with an excessive amount of mods on it. The BR350 package making an additional 70 whp is in that category.

I am talking with MMNA about this and we are trying to come up with some things. It could take some time to get done.

Medina Mitsubishi and Bell Mitsubishi are selling the packages. They are really boosting both of their sales and MMNA should take notice of this, I am hoping.

So far no warranty issues with any of the cars and I don't expect to see any.

What these two dealerships are looking for is abuse. If you come in an the axle is broken or a rod is snapped in two then it happened from abusing the car, plain and simple and it will not be warranteed. It would not be warranteed on a stock car either, abuse it not covered.

If you bring your BR330-350 into these dealers to have serviced they are NOT going to say, the car is modified, warranty voided. If your water pump fails they are NOT going void your warranty. They are just basically overlooking the modifications for anything that has nothing to do with the car being modifed. This is what any dealer should do as voiding the warranty is always suppose to be backed by the proof that the part or parts you installed were directly related to the car breaking. In otherwords a catback exhaust would have nothing to do with your water pump quiting or you a/c not working and you cannot be hassled for it.

How much more is the BR350 package added to the overal cost of the car? Also is these BR EVO's dyno tuned or road tuned before they are delivered to the dealer.

Cars here are dyno tuned, the first of the EVO9's were anyway. It is not actually part of the kit. We never drive them on the road here.

The BR350 kit is $3300.

DAMMIT! I'd jump on this for sure if you guys came to TX. . .with the possiblity of the X far off, and the transition away from the venerable and tested 4G63, I'd trade my VIII in for a IX-BR350 any day. . .Dave-bring it over to TX before I leave!!! Well, I'm moving to NYC or DC, so I guess I could just go to NJ, you said you have a program in NJ right??

I love the stock VIII for sure, but when playing on the highway, hypothetically, with a White Sti that is asking for it, I found myself losing a little steam up top in 4th gear close to redline. . .I think some BR massaging could remedy that, eh?

We just sold two more BR350 packages through Bell Mitsubishi in New Jersey. Also just did an install of a basic BR350 type package at Brad Benson Mitsubishi in New Jersey this week too. Both dealerships are overly pleased with the results and quality of the parts.

Be patient, I am pretty sure Texas is where we are going with this next.

I hope we are that dealership since we have the most Mitsubishi stores in this state as a dealer group!

Did you have Al dynoflash you? I was considering having a WORKs flash, seems like a lot of the Houston-rollers have Al's flash done. . .I think a flash would take my 238awhp to about 280awhpish, I HOPE! I could hit 300awhp with cams I suppose. . .I think 238 is pretty strong for an essentially stock EVO VIII

Yes Mark you are that dealership

The cars are not "broken in" when they go to the customer. Break-in should still be performed.

IMO--Al's flash is cheaper than a Work's flash and will likely make as much or more power. Also u might make 20-30 whp with a flash add tbe with hiflo 40+ whp, and 50 + whp with test pipe. Stis will be no problem with the right tuning and supporting mods.

I hope you're working on dealerships being able to install your products for us without voiding our warranties through out the US. I would love to see this happen. I want to mod but i'm to scared to loose my warranty.

To follow-on to stryderlis' comments, I'd be very interested in buying the BR package and having it installed at the dealership. I wouldn't expect nationwide warranty acceptance/support of the aftermarket parts, but would like the peace-of-mind that with this package my local dealership wouldn't call the Mitsubishi rep as soon as they see the aftermarket exhaust.

My general feeling on dealer support for aftermarket parts is that they can charge a premium in return for the peace-of-mind that they won't void your warranty on the part they installed.

I understand that it's illegal to deny warranty unless the part caused the problem, but wouldn't want to have to debate that with the dealer/Mitsubishi every time I took the car in for servicing.

Gillman San Marcos has done right by me so far, so my fingers are crossed that this deal works out!!!
