Turns out theres a leak in the radiator itself. Now the issue at hand is: fix it(stop leak) or replace it?

Any broken part is a great excuse to upgrade

..but if you are looking for the cheaper route, you may be able to find a radiator shop around that can braze the break, depending on the size of it. I had that done and it worked perfectly. Never had any luck with any of the "Stop Leak" type things though. Price from the radiator shop was like $20..

I don't recommend you using stop leak. I work with HVAC systems and most stop leak brands just puts all types of residue through your cooling system.

I'd go with the brazing like Stew mentioned, or even replacing and upgrading with a new radiator.

In my old Honda I had the block sleeved and the company that sleeved it (goldeneagle) recommended that I add stop leak to ensure no leaks will occur. I used this stuff and about 6 months later we had to pull the motor apart and just like mentioned above there was residue through out the enire system. Stay away from Stop-Leak!!
