When can we expect standalone ECUs for the Evo IX?

I'm shopping for another Evolution, mainly to be used as a track car, but the thing keeping me away from the IX is that there is no standalone ECUs out and it doesn't look like any are in development. Heck, I would even take a piggyback at this point. I personally feel that good engine management is the most important thing on a car, so this worries me greatly. Some people say it could be up to 2 years before we see anything.

Has anyone heard any RELIABLE rumors (Protip: These are from company reps. and magazines, not "MY FRIEND SAID...") about decent management coming out soon? No, I am not interested in a flash, no offense to Dynoflash/Al and crew, they are just not what I am looking for.

Thanks.

I believe that there is a motec for the IX already. You could probably build a megasquirt for it too with a little know how.

MoTeC would be really nice, but is really pricey. I didn't see anything on their site but I will give them a call.

Thanks for the offer, but any Evo8 ECU wouldn't have a way of controlling MIVEC, making it somewhat worthless

Not true. Any good ECU (AEM, Autronic, MoTec, etc) and tuner should be able to make a map and send an output signal to the MIVEC. Shiv is working on it w/ the XEDE.

I doubt you will see any new EVO 9 ECU's since the EVO 10 is so close to being released.

I am sure they could, but I think AEM/Autronic/Motec/Etc. will release a plug-n-play version. I mean they are not just going to skip a whole generation because a newer one is coming out.
