NASCAR is the reason why we waven't had an american F1 champ in 30+ years (I may be wrong with the years but it's been a long time). If speed drops F1 I'm cancelling my subscription.

Truth. Maybe if you all actually watched in the first place, then it wouldn't be a problem. There have been two races this season and absolutly no discussion about them on this board. Even when it was televised last year, it was half way through the season before we got enough interest on this board to get a new sticky thread. How are they going to spend money on this when even Mitsu Evo owners themselves really don't give a crap?

 

Oh, and in a bit of irony, there was a story printed a few weeks ago on how world Television viewership of WRC coverage is way up this year.

I tried to go back and find it, but you have to subscribe for the archives.

 

Well, I won't say that I am an avid follower but I do have key words like 'rally' programmed into my TIVO. I am quite dissapointed to hear that the WRC won't be televised. I was looking forward to watching it this year but frankly I am not even aware of when it starts. But if your looking to get interest started in the forums, count me in. I think rally racing is cool as hell. Oh and I really like watching the old rally racing too that you get on "Legends of Motorsports" show.

Well, getting off topic...I signed the petition. Anyone know where we can watch highlights of the WRC rounds? Anyplace on the net? If anyone has the raw footage maybe we can create some torrents?

Carlsson and Galli are both driving last years Mitsu's run by Ralliart Italy and are currently 3rd and 5th in the overall standings after a 3/4 finish in Sweden.

 

i thought citroen, peugeot, and mitsu dropped out of WRC this year....which means that you'd be watching ford vs subaru vs skoda. geez what a bore..no wonder they dropped it of the air.

 

They're still entered, but as "privateer teams" that are most definatly factory supported in the background. Loeb is still rocking in a Citroen and the Lancers are doing decent this year as well under Ralliart Italy managment. Gronholm is kicking *** in the new Focus, though.

Just recieved this e-mail from WRC.com, I e-mailed them with regards to their viewer numbers were steadily climbing, I told them that the numbers will drop cause the US can't watch WRC cause of Speed channel, is not airing it.
Here is the reply, obviously a generic mailer, but lets see if they are going to be good on their word.
So every one please keep your eyes peeled, let us know if they see the Rally of Monte or Sweden Advertised and on what Channel.
And the Rally of Mexico starts tomorrow.
