Evo IX Tuning Test - 91oct (330WHP)

Thanks to Andy, we got our hands on an Evo IX for a few days of testing and development for our Harman Motive EvoIX Flash using EcuTek technology.

We dynoed the car bone stock, then proceeded to flash. We then installed a turboback exhaust system, 02 housing, and K&N panel filter and repeated.

All tests were performed the same day on the same dyno with the same car. All results are using the pump California 91 octane Andy drove in with.

Summary
Stock: 260WHP 253TQ - 17.15psi peak
Stock + Flash: 288WHP 280TQ - 22.71psi peak

Turboback: 301WHP 261TQ - 18.14psi peak
Turboback + Flash: 330WHP 301TQ - 22.37psi peak

This graph compairs the car stock vs. Harman Motive flash. Only modifications were the reflash and boostMOD (stock hoses and solenoid remain).

This graph compairs the car with a full catless turboback vs. Harman Motive flash.

This graph compairs the reflashed stock car vs. reflashed with turboback.

Needless to say, I was very impressed with the performance of the car. It's right inline with my Evo8 MR w/ cams, intake, etc.

Each map was road tested following the tune to confirm proper A/F, boost, and timing profiles on the street. All tuning was conducted using "det cans" (knock sensor and amplifier connected to headphones) to ensure safe tuning.

Test Vehicle
2006 Evo IX MR GG - 1000mi ODO

Final Mod List
Espelir Downpipe
RNR Cat Delete
RNR Catback
K&N Panel Filter
Harman Motive EcuTek Reflash
boostMOD

Dam nice numbers! Thats an insane looking power band. I was considering ecutek for my IX and now I know for sure it's the way to go.

whats with all the little peaks and valleys.....doesnt that indicate timing being pulled....shouldnt the curves be smoother?

Or am I wrong?

That's just how Dynojet readouts look. MD readouts are like perfectly smooth lines with low resolution, but you see all the nooks and crannies on a Dynojet readout. Hell, that's on smoothing 5 - you should see it on smoothing 0 when it's much worse.

However, there still may be a few timing pulls in there (4700/5200/6200rpm).

Yes!!! This is what I have been waiting for, IX numbers from Harman Automotive. 330WHP looks awesome. I plan to attempt to buy a IX in the next 4 to 6 weeks hopefully. I hope to do business with you soon after that.
