Best place for auto loan?
Best place for auto loan?
What's the best place to pick up an auto loan for an 03 evo? My local back is pretty high at 7.9% for a used 2003 and I have perfect credit.
I've looked at capitalone.com and eloan.com... any others out there that people would reccomend?
Thanks!

My local credit union is 7.9% however they have .5% off for excellent credit, and .25% for a checking account.. so I'm still looking at over 7%. The other two banks in town are about the same, however I do not have accounts with them. Is it possible to use a credit union in another state? If so could you PM me the bank info for the 4.25%?
Thx

I'm sure if I go to my local credit union with a "quote" from another bank with a lower rate they will match it... better to make some money off me than none at all.

There is a 1 point rate jump between financing an '03 versus an '04 or newer vehicle so the best rate I have through Desert Schools FCU which is one of the largest Credit Unions in AZ is 7% for up to 60 months. If you were looking at an '04 or newer it would be 6% X 60.
You also have to keep in mind that rates have gone up almost 2 points in the last year or so, so people telling you that they got 4 or 5% may have opened the loan 6 months to a year ago, and I do know that rates vary a lot state to state.
Other than that, the two places you already tried are the two that I would have recommended, so you will probably just have to pick the best available and then try to pay down the principle balance as quickly as possible.
Good luck.
