It will never happen. If it does, it will be short lived.

Picture this scenario:

You are in bum-Fluck kansas or oaklahoma, speed limit is 70mph on the highway and you have a funnel cloud bearing down on you at 90mph...

(been there, done that )

Actually, some insurance companies are rolling this out and trying it out. Basically it is like a black box that monitors your speed among other things(like the ones in GMC and Chevy that they pull after an accident and can tell you how fast and where the impact occurred on the vehicle). At the end of the cycle(do not know if a year or term or how that works) the insurance company will look at it and give you a discount if you keep an average below the speed limit. One of the insurance companies that is trying this out is Progressive.

Personally, I think this is B.S. because in CA you cannot go the speed limit anywhere. Unless you want a Semi to rear end you. Also I would think this goes upon peoples rights.

i dont think it would ever actually happen theres no way and even if it did, people would just find a way around like everyone always has.

I wouldn't worry about it. The people had to sign up for it. I really do not think how the Insurance companies would be able to get away with it. I remember walking by it to my desk saying WTF?

well i see a lot of police officers that ridiculously runs over the speed limit. just wait how many people gets late everyday to their work/SUPER IMPORTANT APPOINTMENTS ( meeting a pres!dent/ambassador from a different country)and get fired . and that also includes the congress and other political officers(including the pres!dent) who approved this law
