Spend the extra 2 grand and get the GSR. ABS, Full Power, Stereo, Wing, Painted handles and mirrors.

I love mine. With the lack of sound deadening just don't get a loud exhaust for it. Get a Fujitsubo for sure. When it came out I felt like they had just made the perfect car for me.

A little OT...but yeah...I haven't heard anything about that car yet. I read all the press releases beforehand and was hoping to have heard more once the car was released. In general have they been well received?

RS is the best bang for the buck. I put an alarm with a power lock on the driver side only( I am thinking about the passenger side also weight difference is so minimal if you get the whole lock assembly from regular evo. my dealer sells it for 185 per door). And I put a decent stereo system that can blast my ears. I love my RS. If you buy the RS, make sure you weight down bit more. I weighted down about 100 lbs less than stock RS. It handles so much better, stops better, corner faster and your stock clutch holds better. Oh, also, you save gas money.

and rear wiper, intermittent front, oh @%^ handles(needed for passenges in evo), different colors, visor mirrors. alot of small and big differences for 2k. sounds like you are buying used. there shouldnt be that much of a difference in price. oh yeah, when i priced insurance the rs was more expensive than the viii and mr(abs)

i could only imagine how much it would cost to add some of those things(forget about time and effort)

for 2k more, you can pull the wing off(or sell whole trunk and wing, get cf) net some extra money, save about 150 on a alarm(additional charge for door lock actuators) you dont need cd player, etc......
the rs does have gauges(most people replace hem) and nicer shift knob, aluminum roof, lighter weight.

if you are just buying it b.c its cheaper, you are making a mistake if you are buying it b.c its lightweight and "pure" then buy the rs, there is nothing more pure

If I buy another evo, it will be an RS. I bought this nice quiet car, and have spent every dollar I make tring to make it as obnoxious as possible. If I bought an RS I would have gotten to the end result faster. The only thing I don't like about the RS is the lack of ABS. Good luck.

I sold my regular Evo to get a lighter weight RS and am very happy with my decision. Weight is everything when it comes to handling feel. 04 Evo = lightest Evo imported to the USA

I have an '04 RS that is primarily a track car. It was much cheaper than the other models, and is somewhat lighter. If you want to dedicate your EVO to racing or track days, getting the RS is a no-brainer.

Ok alot of You guys think that the RS is A lot faster than the MR. The RS is Only 65 Lbs Lighter. 65 Lbs wont even get you .01 Second Faster. Also According to this, the MR is Faster than the RS by .1 Second.

I have an 03 GSR. No rear Crash beam, Trunk Empty, No under tray, Small Spoiler, 13.4. With everything On and In, 13.4. That minimal Difference didn't change...

The reason I went with the RS is because I like to tinker on my cars. I can't think of a better car on the planet than an Evo RS for that. It's truly a blank canvas. You've got all the important performance stuff but very few creature comforts.

Some other things I've gotten a little tired of...

- manual side mirrors
- only 3 settings for windshield wiper speeds
- manual locks
- manual windows
- no trunk lining
- endless modifications "wish list"
I agree. You get what's important what under the hood and suspension. Then from there you can make the car your own. I always rip the stock stuff out anyway. The RS is for someone who wants a car in its purest form or wants a great platform to fully customize the car to meet there want and needs

what insuarnce are you using? RS was cheaper on most of insurance companies when I shopped for insurance. Most of the insurance companies don't even differenciate between RS, gsr or MR.

Oh yeah, try to sell what you have on gsr. you won't get much out of it or worse nobody will buy it.
Also, you better have the after market alarm system for the security of your car. stock alarm and the stereo system is not worth paying.

However, If you are buying an RS to save money and add some luxury features, you are making mistake. Other than that, buying an RS save you money and weight.
