VW people giving me hard time

I have a turbo VR6 that makes 450+ whp on pump gas with the STOCK BLOCK. Only engine mod is a thicker metal HG to lower the compression & ARP head studs. The stock block has over 106k on it and well over 250 1/4mile passes and it still runs like a top.
All these people saying the EVO is the greatest car ever either their head up there butts or never drove anything faster. Most of them probably came from DSM's so the EVO is like the mythical unicorn to them, its no wonder why look at it with such high regard.
Don't get me wrong the EVO is a nice car, but its still just a 30k car, just like the R32 is... each has their pros and cons. I'm not taking sides in this argument because I can't stand fighting with people on the internet but if you were to ask the VW board the same question about the R32 or another VW you would see the same respones that some of the EVO owners give. Its only natural to defend your 30k purchase and justify it to yourself.

I actually have close to 300 passes on the car... only thing that EVER broke on me was a pressure plate strap when I was running slicks and nitrous. The stock motor has seen an all motor setup that went 13.5 @ 101, a single shot n2o setup that went 13.1 @ 105 and a full direct port n2o system that went a best of 12.6 @ 110, the turbo has only been down the track about 20 times.
I expect to break stuff eventually, it just comes with the territory when you tripple the wheel HP that the factory gave you somethings got to give. Not saying these cars are bullet proof but like anything else if you take good care of it and don't abuse it (read: no how to drive w/o causing damage) you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
Having said that my EVO hasn't done to bad either. I have about 80 passes on that car and the only thing that went on me was the clutch and that was totally my fault for doing 6 back to back passes where I pulled 1.7 60's. I have 62k on the EVO currently and I bought it 16 months ago with 4 miles on the ODO. Needless to say I do a lot of driving.
