if you're going to mod your evo save money and get the shortest warranty possible... get a beater car... yeah a daily driver sh!tbox so if your car breaks you'll still have transportation... then mod the hell out of the evo and try to wipe the grin off your face everytime you get behind the wheel
that's what i do... my beater is a 96 miata.. who needs a trunk and seats when you have another 4door sedan

i owned my 03 evo for exactly 3 years and did lot of stuff with it. the only problem that i got is the clutch since i beat the hell out of it.
if you only do the minor mods like tbe, drop-in filter and get a good tuned (a reflash if you worry about warranty), you're very likely not getting any problem with it assuming that you drive it normal (not launching the car at every intersections, doing no-lift shift on freeway, allowing morrons to touch your car...).
i'm pretty sure the STi will be similar case.

hmm aite, yeah the warranty iono, i think theres a recent post someone made on here about taking their car in under warranty for a weird noise and they blamed it on a aftermarket short shifter when his was really stock. so i guess even if u don't mod ur not getting that 10 yr warranty honored
I have a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty on my Evo Is Mitsubishi still offering that warranty? If you leave it stock and do not race it you should have no problems. Now if you start modding then you will never stop...
