Nice to see it went on so easy and fits so well. That is how it's suppose to go.

We will be posting some detail shots later today of the hangers and such.

Dave,
Will this exhaust with a hi flow cat and a downpipe pass the california 95decibel law?

There was an exhaust thread that also had a link to socalevo.net with a few others in which they did tests on. You might be able to gauge somewhat with that.

That sucks that you have that law though. It's a pain in the rear to wake up early in the morning to go to work, but it is all made better when I take off and get to wake everyone up with me!

With a hfc, and the new muffler you may be close, but you could always (dare I say) add a resonator until you can meet the decibel level, if you really wanted the exhaust.. Or... just move out of california

If you run the highflow cat I am going to say yes, it should pass with ease. Taking the cat off makes the system quite a bit louder but I would still say even catless it would be 95db's or maybe a little under. This will depend on what else is done to the car. They get louder the more power they make. Even at idle.

Anyone from SoCal with this exhaust? I wanna hear it in person.

As for dBA... Car and Driver (yea.... lol) says the stock MR is 78dBA under full throttle. I dont know how they measure that though. Probably from inside the car because i know this car is louder than that if you're standing out near the tail pipe. I've heard quite a few on the dyno and they can't be that quiet.

We just bought a DB meter to do exhaust testing here. The results of various systems are on our website.

I am very happy with the exhaust. I was a little nervous that it may be too loud for me, but after driving around its not that loud inside. Its loud outside (according to my friends) - but it has a nice distinct tone to it.

I was thinking about this for a second and thought, 'Dave Buschur bought a 'Dave Buschur' meter... wtf?' And then I figured out that it was a decibel meter... Thats what I get for thinking too hard.

Yeah. But the problem with the way you're measuring dBA is that you only go as high as 3,000rpm. I wanna know how loud these systems get when you open them up. Thats the big issue with most exhausts since most of them sound fine at 2k-3k. Then at higher RPM's, you really notice a difference in volume and tone.

Meh.... they're dreaming. My V-1 is user programmable to turn X band off and change many other features. Its also kept me ticket free for 4 years now. *knocks on wood*.

I cannot say the same for my friends who own "the competiton". I was with one friend who threw his Bell top of the line out his window after getting a massive ticket driving up I-5 to the Bay Area from LA.

I wouldn't have gone that far.... rather i would have sold it to some unsuspecting person and bought a V1.

Actually.... he did buy a V-1 right after the incident.

exhaust piping, flanges, and hangers are all stainless (i believe it is 301 or 304)
If it is 304 then I think it has more Ni and Cr in it which helps in rust prevention.

One thing that you should beware of, you can find a 'full stainless' exhaust that was not welded with stainless filler rod. In that case the welds Will rust and it will generally happen pretty quick if it is not painted or coated with a material. If you have ever seen mild steel welded and not painted within a day or two you can see the surface rust on the welds.

The welds on the BR exhaust have NOT rusted at all.

Thanks Roll model. That is correct. The systems are 100% 304 grade SS from front to rear, hangers, v band, clamps, flanges, tubing, muffler, tip, packing inside of the muffler. All of it
