My weekend project.. with pics
Well I picked up a few things from a buddy of mine who works over in Wakeman
Then on Saturday I got to work with some friends. Anyone that has paid attention to the weather lately knows how cold it has been. And my only option of working on my car at my house would be outside with some small craftsman jackstands. Don't get me wrong, this is ok in the summer... but its really cold out right now.
So... what to do - my girlfriend just so happens to have a grandpa that lives in the Huron area 15 mins away with a nice little setup for a garage. Thats the ticket right there. I hope my car isn't afraid of heights
So, with a little bit of time and bs'ing with my roommate from college, we got to work. I will let the pics that I have show the rest...
Everything went together well, but using some of the original bolts that I was supposed to use I didn't. I went to ace hardware and got a few longer bolts to make the installation easier. The stock bolts for the hangers were just a little too short for my liking with the hangers on the piping.
There are a couple of pictures of my friend's car that we also tinkered with. I wish I would have got pictures of the other two cars that were sitting in the garage before I put mine in there. A nice 32 ford and a chevelle station wagon.... soo perfect.

out with the old - pb blaster was sprayed... no my car does not leak

in with the new

Just a side shot

The other car we worked on that day
fixing a shifter.... made so much easier with this..

So, moral of the story - I got a great exhaust thanks to David and everyone else at BR. And a girlfriend can come in handy when her grandpa has a pretty nice hot rod shop.
The new muffler offers quite a bit of sound difference from the original race muffler. On the highway at 70 mph it gives a rumble, but not too loud that the stereo cannot overcome it (if you want too).

The exhaust fits like a glove. the only issue i had was with the rubber hangers. the stock bolts were long enough to go through the hanger and the rubber mount, but the nuts on the end along with washers was a tighter than what i liked fit. The stock bolts have a lock washer, a flat washer (both which do not come off) and then another washer.
I just bought all new ones for each mount but one. Worked out just fine.

Anyone considering purchasing the new muffler from BR, I would reccommend it. It is loud but does have a lower tone to it.
The real test was driving the car to work for me (1 hour drive) and it is great. Not loud enough to make you deaf - but enough there to just say 'hey I am here, now open me up!'

Thanks a lot for the post and the pictures! We appreciate it.
Nice to see it went on so easy and fits so well. That is how it's suppose to go.
We will be posting some detail shots later today of the hangers and such.

4 posts you can drive right on, but cannot change tires... as easy as a two post lift. but the two post lift you have to move the arms to the jack points. They both have their advantages/disadvantages
The exhaust $ - check out any specials on evom or view buschur's website
Wes, the exhaust looks great. Glad I could help you out.
We are still selling the 3" turbo back exhaust with this new muffler design for $825.00 SHIPPED!
