check out www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com to get a ball park figure. Dealers usually pay less than the estimated trade in value. But it all depends if you are going to buy a car with cash, or if you know the salesman etc. Value of your car is also based on your location and both those sites puts that into concideration.

There's a whole bunch of WRX's coast to coast with 12,000-35,000 miles for $15k-19k Some of the more expensive ones have some nice mods as well. Check Autotrader for more info.

I've checked all those sites (BTW, out of 500 imprezas, the cheapest WRX in auto trader was 16,8 with 43K miles, obviously thats asking and not trade). I was just curious what others actually got when trading for an EVO specifically.
Zach, is 16.5 what you got for a trade or selling it outright? What, if any did you pay over MSRP if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks

BTW i was offered 17K to sell to a private buyer.. But it wasn't worth my time for $500..
The car was worth ~20K IMO.. But the market is overrun with WRXs.. they are like the new honda..

Errrr...I got raped for my WRX . It was an '03 Sonic Yellow that I got in Sept. '02 (7200 miles). I came into the Evo upside down due to the large difference between trade-in and pay-off amounts. So, expect to lose money on the deal.
On the positive note, the Evo is such an awesome ride, that the new pleasure and excitement you get numbs out any remorse of losing on the WRX trade-in.
Go for it!

So Leonardo
What was your overall "deal"? I won't laugh, cause I may end up getting raped too :-). The more I hear, the more I want one.
I wish they weren't such limited production, I'd wait and sell the rex on my own. I may still wait since I am in NJ/NY area which has a lot of large mitsu dealers and will prob get quite a few EVO's in this area (comparatively).

Irvine Subaru has a few 2003 WRB WRX's for $3k UNDER msrp! Not a bad deal: $22k for a WRX with 0 miles...

$17k was the trade-in value, which was what I thought my loan pay-off would be...WRONG. Duoohh! , I didn't amoratize (sp?) for interest, so my pay-off was a couple of thousand more.
I should have either sold it myself or at least gone to CarMax. It really was an impulse buy and I was not quite thinking straight. I was so thrilled to see the Evo in person, and the exact one I wanted (Yellow, sunroof, big wing) was available at that Saturday afternoon, I had to jump on it. Remember that I wasn't even on the waitlist and there was no dealer mark-up. My emotions got the better of me
