Launch Control

I had a quick question ... someone told me that the EVO has a built in launch control (2step) is this true? Sorry for sounding like a newbie on this but I'm not down to try it out unless I know for sure its true.

If it dosnt ... is there anyone that makes a 2 step control unit for the evo?

5K rev limiter.

Come to a complete stop. Select first gear and then hold down the gas and your car won't go past 5k rpms. 5k may be a bit low to launch but you never know...

Whats this difference over stock? They raise the RPM limit? Anything else?

Yes, all 05s and 06s have this built-in 5k launch limiter that inadvertently behaves like a 2-step launch control. Yes, it also builds boost (~5-7psi).

Also, you can get launch control with a Dynoflash, and you can have the RPM set wherever you want. The default RPM is 6k rpm, which is where mine is set in this video:

Dynoflash 2-step launch control (6k rpm)

It was discussed in this thread:

As requested, here's a vid of my 2-step Dynoflash launch control

With the 6k limiter, it builds 10-12psi, but I would not recommend using it too often with a cat, though.
