At first it was cool, now,it is getting ridiculous....:)

Last week, I posted this after hanging with some gear heads near my house.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=185336

Tonight, I head out to the same spot, back in to a spot next to a cherry 93 Cobra setup for open-tracking , and started hanging out. Well, one of the SRT guys pulls in and sees the intercooler sporting the stylish AMS Logo. He walks up with some of 'his' crew, several boosted cars, from Acura to a older 96 Civic.

We start chatting, and talking about what they offer for the SRT now, and next thing you know, I turn around, and literally, there is like 20 guys, all standing around, looking over the car. Over the course of 2 hours, I must have answered 100 questions about Martin, Eric, Jon K, One Lap, the 'dreaded' black Evo from FL, and other AMS under takings over the course of the year. Then I started giving rides, and trading drives in other peoples cars. Every person couldn't believe how insane my car was, and they couldn't believe that my car was tuned 'conservatively'. Just another testatment to the ability of the AMS crew.

To AMS, if you were wondering how the articles were working for publicity, I can tell you, THEY DID. Unbelievable, every time I go out now during the weekend, I get baraged. Tomorrow is going to be worse, I am going to the drag strip with some of the SRT guys, I am sure it will be repeat of today. I better get some rest.

Cool. You're a true Evo ambassador. Now you just need to find a group of slutty street racing women to fall in with.

Your car cant pull that hard now i got 322whp with the car in safe mode with the check engine light car running lean and a idel thats just kicking me in the rear end. And besides why would people ask you all about ams you dont even work there and if you did you wouldnt even be posting anything.

All your doing is hurting other people that own evo's because when it comes down to race for cash there going to know whats up becasue your runnning around telling everybody what are cars can do.

I don't know, maybe they're asking him about AMS because he's sporting an intercooler that reads AMS across it. Also, I don't think it's a secret what our cars are capable of...

see people know about evos but they dont want to admit it.

when i want to race someone here in chicago they back out right away and when i ask them why they always tell me the same thing we know what evos around here can do no way. I had a locked in race with a 69 z28 with 400+ and he backed out as soon as he saw my Fmic he told me i know that car has ams parts in it and just backed out word of mouth people. even th drag racing fourms wont admit it all the do is talk smack then when you see that person on the street they dont want to race i think you get the point now

So maybe you should blame AMS for putting out sick cars?

You guys don't understand the mentality that Chicago street racers have up here. Its all about the hustle and advantage. The less people know about what your car is capable of, the more money you stand to make. Some people I know actually do it as a large part of their income.

I've never really been into it at all. I have my career in building and racing them. If I do any racing elsewhere, its gonna be for fun.

thanks! that makes ALOT more sense.

see, around here we'll give you a list of what we got, doesnt matter, top dog is a top dog. but we do have a **** load of free way monsters; mainly supras, vettes and vipers. i mean its like:

"yo you want to play?"
"what you got?"
"gt35 on 2.3 stroked, you?"
"blown ws6"

"ok lets race"
i guess different areas do have different mentalities. but thanks for making it CLEAR to understand.
