i took the short shifter off.... thanks every1, ill post up the results around the 20th-22nd after the car is taken apart and looked at...i RARELY grind any gears shifting, i mean RARELY so im sure 1-4 looks good....so i think and hope i should be okay..
thanks
thanks
Don't worry about the tire thing, your on par. Now the mods may screw you, because ANY performance enhancing modification puts extra stress on the drivetrain; therefore vioding warrentee.
But it's 5th gear, so just simply tell them you don't speed and have never been to the track, and be like "If i was shifting hard into 5th i would be going 120+, do you think im crazy." If you beat the **** out of it in 1-4th your 5th gear synchros wouldn't be effected anyway.
I dunno, it doesn't even seem like and issue, just make them feel like idiots. good luck

It's possible that 5th gear failure would not be related to your spirited driving, but really, look at it from another point of view. Your mods alone suggest that you want a higher performance car and by your own admission you make the car slide from time to time... That's not what is usually considered normal tear and wear.... A lot of guys in these forums complain about denial of warranty but they modify their cars to the wahzoo and drive the pi$$ out of them..... That makes no sense. The warranty only applies to failures of components due to normal tear and wear. Hard driving of a highly modified car is not covered... Also, if you modify your car, I can guarantee you that problems are going to occur... Some ppl don't think anything of these issues and claim that their car runs "better than stock".. Other ppl consider these "insignificant issues" to be serious problems... It's up to each person, but the truth is that:
Mods= potential problems and,
hard driving= damages not covered by warranty.

shoot you think that's bad. I get 5th gear grind sometimes and I have an aftermarket clutch. I mean I got the grind BEFORE i got the clutch but it started slipping so I had to change it. Now I'm SOL. So I hope my 5th gear doesn't get worse.

I got my warranty voided when i took it in for 5th gear grind and transfer case whine on my 03 because of exhaust and short throw shifter (which i dont have) its stock mitsu shifter and i proved it to them.
so again gl
I had my 5th gear synchro replaced about a year ago on my '04. Mitsubishi will claim anything to avoid fixing it on them. In my situation, it took some significant hagglilng, but I am an attorney so I've got a little more experience with it. The thing about Mitsu that has pissed me off for the past 10 years with them is that they know they are wrong but they will fight for a short period of time because alot of customers give up and pay up. Dont add yourself to the statistic.

new tires!!!!
(if they should have lasted longer) Ha hAhA
