so its basically a fight it out to get any kind of warranty work on this car, wtf is the point of selling it as a best backed car in the world blah blah and the freakin 5 year 60k bumper to bumper. I hope you guys jut have crappy dealers. I still want a Evo IX and dont' plan on throwing anything on it. Even a catback exhaust voids the warranty?

I think if a service tech ever tried to tell me that they may try to deny warranty claims because of how my tires looked I'd have a good laugh and then inform him I got the tires used and they are not the orginals.
Then there is the fact that these soft tires that come on an Evo can be made to look real odd real quick with an improper alignment and/or tire pressure.
Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

well just got back from the dealer with my car because they cant fix it until the 20th...and the guy was pretty honest with me...he said this time i dont foresee there being a problem with the car. but if it were to happen again since everything is notated in ur file that u have the exhaust work done and the "racing harness's" we have suspect to believe you might drive this car other than intended...i then asked what it was intended for. he said to drive from point a to point b....so i said isn't that what the regular lancer is for? y would they put awd crazy electronics and a 300hp motor? etc... he got a little agrivated then and said this is the deal we're gonna fix it but its my job to scare you from doing anything else because next time the tranny goes bad its not going to be on us..and i said well thats i needed to hear i dont have time to be mislead. i work 50 hours a week and am taking 18 credits in school. the reason i am concerned about this is because if mitsu isn't going to warranty this problem im not going to let you guys charge me triple what some1 else can charge. then he took me for a ride in has 350 whp mustang dynoed 99 gsx.......while he's pounding through the gears i said if this is how u think i drive your nuts, and i asked him to slow down lol ya so **** u mitsu, but thanks for the free fix

Dude... look at your mods... did you put your car back to stock?? If not thats probably why they are going to reject any claim you have now or in the future...

This is why multi manufacturer dealerships .. One I use for example is BUICK/GMC/NISSAN/MITSUBISHI- and they would RARELY NOT cover something ...

It really just depends which dealership you go to..

any mod can void your warranty, wether or not its related to the tranny or not. I know some guy with a regular lancer that had racing seats\harnesess, bigger wheels and those stickers that add 50whp that blew his motor and they voided his warranty. Now he has to do what I tried and failed to do with my sh!tty fuct up honda tranny, use the steps set forth by sema using the magnusson warranty act to get his warranty validated. But in the meantime hes stuck without a car. I got to the consumer protection agency and couldn't wait any longer(Ihad no fifth gear and third popped out all the time). So they just void your warranty and you then have to try to use the magnusson warranty act to get it validated. I mean sometimes you get a good dealership or a good warranty rep but for the most part its in their best interest to void your warranty to make you spend the money. But you at least took off the parts before you went in so I hope evrything goes well. If not got to sema.com and follow the steps they set forth. Call the consumer protection agency as soon as possible to if they try to void it because of the tires. tell em you will do this to, and the lawyer thing is good-if you get em scared enuff they might just give in but like that member that is a lawyer said thats what they are trying to get you to do.

idk my battle still isn't over yet....when they drop the tranny and open it they need the district guy to look at it to give the final okay. i but everything back to stock the exhaust cause they said the exahust doesn't cancel any type of warranty at all.. i just hate how they make you feel all bad and guilty for doing anything...just to get something fixed. i think even if my car was 100% stock they would still give me a hard time.

I think its Distric Manager BS, I had mine tranny done twice. NO district manager involved. They fixed the 5th gear grind 03 Evo and then later it was doing it again and they did it again. Now after 1 year it does it in 3rd gear sometimes, I doubt they do it again. So I guess either rules have gotten stricter or they just BSing you.
