What is the Max boost pressure that the Stock Turbo will spike at?
What is the Max boost pressure that the Stock Turbo will spike at?
After installing Alcohol Injection I cranked the boost up as far as it will go, and I am only hitting 25psi. 1st and 2nd geat are getting right around 22psi.......I'm just curious to see what other people are getting on the stock turbo.
change your mbc spring and maybe the ball to ceramic.
The stock turbo could boost upto 29psi or little more with meth/alky injection.
of course, you'll start to be out of efficient range on the stock turbo.
you'll also probably need to take the ECU boost cut out. Otherwise, the Ecu will limit boost to 25psi, fuel cut it, etc...

It might be your stock wastegate actuator.
After installing a forge actuator my stock turbo now holds a steady 25psi. on alky.
oh yea, i'm also using the hallman mbc w/ regular spring.

Btw, there is no magical fuel cut at 25psi. It's all based on perceived airflow, and it tends to happen at different boost levels on each Evo. It actually usually happens well before 25psi, but he has a flash, so it doesn't matter.
He also already has the Forge UNOS with stiff spring, so that's not the issue either unless the spring has come off the nipple or something. I nailed 30+psi per Al's MAP sensor when we first started tuning me for alky, so I know the Forge is capable of it. Also, even though I have the Forge WGA, there's no way in hell I could even think about maintaining 25psi to redline. People always say that, but if you watch the boost profile when logged with a MAP sensor, it always declines linearly.

I peaked 30PSI in several ocasions but my setup losses power above 28PSI.
TTP engineering claims that he ran up to 34PSI on stocvk turbo going nuts with it with a lot fo methanol.
25PSI on your car with alcohol kit is in my opinion kind of low. You should be able to at least peak 28PSI without any issues.
My lady's Evo 9 peaked a maximum of 27PSI on her Evo 9 with minor mods(flash.3TB,MBC,CAI) and 94oct . I have this registered on her Defi BF imperial gauge in case someone does not believe it.
So, yes, definately your 25PSI sounds odd to me..

that's funny, because there was a "magical" fuel cut at 25psi on my car and 2 other evos we tested.
It's funny how everything that comes out of warrtalon's mouth comes out very insulting and amateur. Like a 10 year old kid at a playground, overcompensating for lack of something.
I guess some people just thinks they know everything, although they don't even work on their own car.
anyway, I've tested on stock ECU on dyno with a real good tuner. The manifold heated up red and everything.
But if you have the fuel cut removed, it works.
wastegate or it could be your mbc. Forge UNOS seem to be very irradic on my friends and doesn't hold boost as well as hallman. He end up getting the apexi EBC.
I would go with Tial wastegate for anything over 25psi and hallman mbc connected to wastegate nipple, not turbo nipple to get a stable reading.

What does a manifold heating up red have to do with this? Nothing.
What in the world do you mean to connect the mbc to the wastegate nipple instead of the turbo nipple? You ALWAYS connect to the wastegate nipple no matter what. Where else would you connect it? You ALSO connect to the turbo nipple. The only other option for the pressure source is the bov/intake mani line, which isn't recommended. Neither has anything do with getting "stable readings." That comes on your boost gauge, which has nothing to do with the MBC. There are tons of Evos out there with the stock wastegate running 25psi or more. Suggesting a Tial WG on the stock turbo is asinine. Please stop making these absurd recommendations...please.
I think you're just spewing things from last year and 2 years ago on this forum.
clap clap clap. you could read.
I'm happy for you.
I wasn't talking to you about manifold heating up, if you don't like that, that's fine. stop being a baby. I'm not on a trial, and I honestly could careless of what you say. Because someone said it better on this board a while back, when it was still nice here with a lot of people who had a good foundation on 4g63.
if you don't know what i'm talking about, maybe you need to use the "SEARCH" button more often and go back read some threads from a while back.
This has been discussed a long time ago already and I don't want to get into something I already know.
by the way, you sat in your car and shifted. you let others do your tuning, install things, and everything else for you. Then you come in here and talk about things that's already mentioned before in this forum 100 times and you do it in a very inappropriate way.
I think you need to get out of the whole illusion of something great, since you're not a pro-drag racer and there are many people who has help this board and helped people without your insulting ways.
I don't try not to read your posting, it's really annoying how you get on people for no reason.
Now read ywhat you just wrote, go "SEARCH" and see how the things i said are true.

by the way, TTP E's a friend of Wart. lol so you could gangbang me, I said what I experienced.
