ebay 02 fix

with a couple days of the install of my ebay o2 the SES poped on. I am pretty sure this will be a fix with the spark plug foulers <--whatever. Anyone run into this issue and if so what size do i need to drill?

A fouler is not going to fix the problem. You need to get the SES scanned.

Did you install an o2 housing or test pipe? A fouler is used to limit the amount of exhaust gas to the 2nd o2 sensor to mimic the readings it had with the cat. Installing an o2 housing will have no effect on this.

you bought a ebay 02 sensor? what temperature were they rated? brand?

It probably burnt out.

front 02 sensor and rear 02 sensor is slightly different...

front 02 sensor has to take a lot of heat abuse, much more than rear 02 sensor.

do you know which code you've thrown? How is your car running?

If this is what I think it is, you probably have p0171 - system too lean and the front 02 sensor circuit CEL codes (bank 1 sensor/circuit 1)- one of the p013x codes. You might have p03xx codes as well.

You don't put a fouler on the front 02 sensor. That's how ecu detects afr ratio and diagnostic startup checks.

you put the 02 out of the exhaust on the rear to warm it up to fool the ecu. so the cel light wont come on. It's for emissions.

I believe he's talking about his front 02 sensor, not the rear 02 sensor.

I think this link is for the rear 02 sensor cel fix. It's a good thread.

I've just bang the floor pan a bit to make sure the 02 sensor end doesn't break or get damaged from the exhaust bouncing up to hit the floor pan.

2 hits with a hammer will take care of that. you can't even tell from inside.

I think its what you said. Recently i had my ex mainfold, 10.5 and got a ebay o2 housing....i bet its running to lean and throwing that code...i will go to autozone tomorrow to see what code it is..if its that ..i guess the only way to rid of it is tune?
