Just got pulled over by Johny Law

I was just on my way home from work..... got off the interstate and up to the red light at the off ramp waiting to turn a left and my X50 started screaming Ka band so I started looking around and saw a patrol car sitting at the light to my right. My light turns green (mind you Im behind a civic and Acura both with fart cans) and we all make the left turn onto the street to the next set of lights. By this time the cop had gotten behind me at the lights. The lights turn green and we all take off and I was making sure I didn't go over the speed limit (45mph) when he turns his lights on. I was like...uhh, ok?

So I pull over and he walks up and asks if my car was new (SC Mitsu plates on back) and I said "yes sir" and I pulled out the registration sticker the dealership gave me out of my glove box. I told him that I had taken it off because I had to get the car registered on base (USMC installation where I work) and it had gotten sand all over the adhesive because the wind was blowing so bad the day I took it off and walked accross the street with it. He was like "well that's why I pulled you over because I didn't see the sticker and no tags." He was very cool and polite. He even laughed when I hit the mute button on my X50 so we could hear each other over the alarm. LOL

I think that he may have pulled me over based on the "POSSIBLE" profile of the car I was driving, but after he talked to me for a minute and I explained everything he was very cool and respectable. Anyway just thought I would post my little experiance as proof that not every boy in blue is out to get us just because they see a wing.

Well, you are sort of right. Yeah, I think you got profiled and he just was itching for a reason to pull you over. He found one and he got you over. However, from my experience, when they come up and see that you are polite to them and everything is actually in order they will let you go. I have been pulled over at least 3 times in my evo. One was a BS ticket at 3 in the morning traveling at the back of a pack of cars (so my fault). The other two were for nothing offenses like failing to signal when changing lanes or something stupid. Once they talked to me, found I was a polite person (not some punk kid) and somewhat respectable they let me go with a wave and nice car...

You had no plate on your car, that is grounds to be pulled over. Don't say profiling, you had no plate, he could have given you a ticket for it as well.

Yea, I got kinda worried when I saw him and noticed that I was behind 2 guys that really loud exhausts. I was like, this dude is going to think that we're racing or something. I was just making sure I kept my distance from the other two guys.

I have to have plates before I can put it on. Still haven't gotten them in the mail, so no he couldn't have given me a ticket. Im wasn't trying to say he was like "oh goody, a ricer punk I can pull over". I just noticed that he starting staring at my car long before he saw the back and that I didnt' have a plate. But like I said...he was really cool about everything.

Yeah he could have given you a ticket, "failure to properly display plates" or "unclear Plates" because that sticker must be up, it's called a temp tag, without it you have no visible registration for the car and the cop could easilly assume it is stolen or something illegal. Cops don't pull people over if they are not breaking the law, there has to be a reason.

Glad things worked out for you though.

Your exactly right, but they profile you first, then they look for stuff to pull you over for.
They cant pull you over without haveing probable cause, but if they spot the evo with a hugh wing, then they start searching the car to see what they can pull it over for.

Profiling is female dog.

I know what you are saying, but he saw a car with no plate. I will tell you right now I will pull you over if I was a cop because I have no way to identify you. ANY car without a plate will be pulled over. Even the Presidents Limo has a plate on it. You are also in SC with an Evo with no plates, those cars LOVE to get stolen.
