My stock 03' Cobra was faster and had more power than my current modded EVO....
I will have to say though. I've ran faster times in the EVO and almost trapped the same speed.
Cobra: 8.504 @ 88.7 mph w/2.3 60ft.
(stock)
EVO: 7.969 @ 86.9 mph w/1.73 60ft. intake, 272s, tbe, custom reflash

That's what I'm really counting on... the overall package... I'm really glad to hear so many people are coming from my position. Helps me make my decision much easier. Thanks guys!
i went from an 02 pontiac grand prix GTP that had some work done to it (i dont know what, i bought it used) that was slow and heavy, to my EVO and now i wonder what took me so long to buy this car.

I really want an evo just because I've always wanted one.. but i used to have a 12.4 car that i daily drove just fine. I was wondering how you guys cope with "up/down-grading" to an Evo... I know I can make an evo faster than that, but I know that wont happen for a while because i'm going to be poor after I buy it.... What did you guys drive before that was faster and what in the Evo made up for that? What I think IMO that will make up for it, is probally the comfort and traction.
My plan is to have a 700awhp car, so the EVO fit's the bill in that regard. I have 4 kids and 1 isn't it school, so the EVO fit's the bill in that regard too. They are great cars and handle great, brake awesome, and BREAK great too.
Lot's of squeaks, rattles, and noises that are aggravating, but if you need a 4 perosn+, good handling, braking car this may be it.
my bike is faster then the evo though there is a different sense of excitment you get with an evo. Yes the bike can accelerate harder though your always on your toes.
The handling of the evo is what is most rewarding and I dont think any car can be significantly better then the evo.

My SR20DET 240SX was just as fast as my Evo. I blew a good 20K on that car though. It did have working A/C, power everything, good ride and looked like new condition when I sold it. I just sold it because I blew 2 motors and didn't want to go through a 3rd.
I've kinda been browsing around for a supra since I sold my car, but it's so hard to find one around here. Also, i'm scared it's going to be too hard to drive on rainy days like my 240, because it rains here ALOT. Did any of you guys get a quote on an 05 Evo 8 and an Evo 9? Or simply replace their old 8 wiht a 9 on insurance? Are any of your guy's numbers off? WHen I quoted myself, there was a $400 difference between the 2 cars. I thought that was weird.
