I have 2 5.0 mustangs (no longer stock) that may have more brut torque, but the Evo always feels better at triple digits than any other car I've driven.. This car does lots of things well.

I know I can make an evo faster than that, but I know that wont happen for a while because i'm going to be poor after I buy it.... What did you guys drive before that was faster and what in the Evo made up for that? What I think IMO that will make up for it, is probally the comfort and traction.

Had a 93 Cobra that was running in the mid 12's, but it was stolen.

Now i need a car that is a four door for work, so the Evo is an awesome car that is good for work as well.

Coming from an RSX-s with 429whp, the EVO is very slow in the straights.

my 2002 gti with a built motor and gt3071r was MUCH faster than the evo in the straights but it didn't put a smile on my face when i took turns at 100+ and i couldn't get the rear end out, or fit some friends in the back..

evo is 10x better if every way, and i know it will be faster, evnetually...

RX7 Turbo II with Haltech, T04E, TBE, etc.. was faster than my EVO stock and even lightly modded (with reflash). Now, I'm not so sure..

He's right ^. I owned an E46 M3 and dumped it for the Evo. It never gave me the grin that I have now driving the Evo...

I also had a Z32 TT that had over 400HP. Handled like a pig compared to the Evo...but it was FAST.

My old GSX was quite a bit faster then the Evo. Fully built, Cams, port work, 50 trim running 22+psi, 75 shot of spray, the works. Around 450whp.

Also my 68 SS chevelle, is quite a mover also. Thing sucks down fule like a **** though. 6 mpg in town, about 10-11 on the highway. 3.73 gears, 40 bored to 402c.i. 850 quad sitting on top and a bit hotter cams.

Nothing handled like the Evo, and after the warrenty is gone, the Evo will be the fastest of all three.

I had a couple of cars that were toe to toe with the Evo in the 1/8 mile

These were a Steatlh R/T Twin Turbo(AWD) and a Porsche 911 Carrera 4(AWD)(Cabriolet), the Porsche was perhaps my favorite, instant power, great power curve, incredible traction(specially with the optional Porsche fitted Carrera Cup wheels)

Well, I haven't gotten rid of it, and may never do so, but the weekend car blows away anything else I've driven (Viper - headers, exhaust, 3.73 axle - runs low 11's).
New EVO will be my daily driver.

I owned a 95 tsi fwd before my evo and it was mildly modified. From a roll both cars are about the same, from a stop the evo would eat it alive. Who else has owned a dsm before an evo? One thing that I had to get used to when I bought the evo was the gearing. In my 95 tsi 1st was bearely a gear because it flew by so quickly (also had a light weight flywheel). 2nd was the power gear along with 3rd. 4th was basically useless and 5th was actually pretty impressive on the highway for not having to downshift. Now in my evo 1st is used most often to get up and go because it doesn't fly through it nearly as quickly as my tsi. 2nd is useless along with 3rd. For some odd reason 4th gear in the evo is rather powerful and 5th is also useless. One final thing I want to mention is that people always complain about the evo's turning radius. I think it's pretty good but then again I can from a 2nd gen dsm. Anybody who ever has driven a dsm know there really is no turning radius in those cars.

I am working on parting my seventh DSM in favor of a new IX.

I am sure I will like it more, even though it will not be faster for a while. 60-1 with tons of supporting mods + AWD makes for a fun car.

I downgraded big time.. Porsche 993 Carrera was about same speed but cant really remember. The 355 Spider I had was faster but the Evo felt quicker under 60mph...
