stock Evo 9 BOV leaks exactly at 26-27psi

Last night I did some boost testing after I ran the Evo 9 at the track and found out that the stock BOV (metal one) leaks at 26psi-27psi.

I recorded a few runs and I did some testing and found out that If I punch it in 5th gear at 60 mph the boost goes to 26psi and sounds like pshs pshhh pshhh pshh several times while it stays at 26psi for a few seconds.

The readings were made on my Defi BF imperial and using the DEFI controller as well(it has a memory card that can record your boost for up to 30 sec then duplicate/play it on the gauge)

By the way, planning on getting a UICP this week on the Evo 9. Any suggestions?
I don't think I will upgrade the BOV at all since the stock BOV hold 26psi and I normally don't run 26PSI. I was running 3 gallons of 101oct last night so I allowed myself to run those levels.

the only real way to test is to do a pressure test on your piping, driving around and listening for leaks isn't a reliable method.

has anyone tried to "crush" these BOV's like the 1g DSM valves yet?

I agree that pressure testing is the only sure way to determine when it leaks. FYI - I found the plastic stock evo8 bov started leaking at 19psi.

You can heard the BOV leaking , it makes a noise like pshhhh -pshhhh-pshhhhh pshhhh-pshhh continuosly and the boost gauge bounces about 1psi down and up, down and up, also you car wouldn't hold any higher boost.

I don't know to explaine it better but it is a very unique sound, it leaks when you are building boost.

Thanks!! I will look at their website. I just order a LICP from fighters-garage today, they also have a upper Intercooler pipe that does not require a battery kit.

To be honest, I don't think I will be running the 27psi for much longer, just until the 91-101 gas mix last on my tank.
