Beater or hook it up?

Ok, I have a little problem. I can decide whether to buy a beater or to put the money into the car itself. I just got my IX like 4 months ago and I just noticed that I have a lot of miles on my car( from going to work and back). I dont really like putting too much mileage on the car too early. Should I get a beater or put the money into the car? I'd really like to hook up the car too, but warranty is not letting me. My goal for my car is 400awhp on stock turbo(if anybody was wondering).
For a beater, I was thinking of a civic hatchback with gsr swap(bestfriend selling his car), or a motorcycle( I REALLY want a bike). But I seem to can't make up my mind. Somebody help me with some advice.............Thanks

If you're planning on keeping the IX for a while, I'd say get a decent, reliable beater. Also, if you're into trackdays and stuff, I'd definitely get a beater since repair costs for an EG or EK HB would be significantly cheaper.

A beater is a good idea, it would probably lower your insurance overall, an the less miles u put on your evo, less maintence... all depends what you want to do!

Well you can do both, right now for me, I want to start modding, but after I finish my first round of modifications I plan to buy a beater. It all depends on what is the most urgent for you right now. My car has 2600 miles in 5 weeks of ownership, so I can still put off a beater for a little while.

you also gotta remember one thing, if you get a beater, it's another car to maintain (even though it's cheaper) another car to pay for insurance, another car for gas. even though it's cheaper compared to the evo, if you think about it, you'll be spending more. but tha'ts just my opinion
