When you turn the wheel around, dont the shifters end up upside down? How the hell do you shift going into a sharp turn with the wheel spun round?

 

evo's dont have paddle shift...so dont wry bout it lol

 

Dude don't you think the engineers have figured this one out. The paddles are stationary and is separate to the wheel.

 

They will starting next year...

 

aside from paddles there is usually an up/down lever where the gear selector is... which is what i use mid-turn if a paddle is placed out of easy reach of the fingers.

edit: also some cars have the paddles mounted to the column, so they are stationary while the wheel turns.

the shifter stay on the same places on both the right side and the left side of the wheel, respectively. all u have to do is move the wheel with ur hands stationed in the same place where the paddles are, then u'll be fine.

at least that's what i've seen in most paddle shift cars.

Thanks. After reading that, kinda makes me want one now I wasnt aware most race cars use sequential shifters and I was confusing it with tiptronic which I dont really care for. I would prefer a lever to shift rather than the paddles though.
