South Coast mitsubishi has some killer deals on RS's, GSR's and MR's.

All I can tell you in regards to mods is this:
1.) You get what you pay for.
2.) Sit down and figure out exactly what you want to do with your car (street setup, drag setup, road racing setup, etc.)
3.) Spend a LOT of time doing research on which mods to get
4.) Spend just as much time figuring out who is going to install your mods
5.) Spend an ungodly amount of time figuring out who is going to tune your car
6.) You get what you pay for.

... as a point of reference, this is coming from someone who went from having $5K in mods and being fairly happy to now having almost $17K in mods and a "work-in-progress". Hopefully my car will be where it is supposed to be at by mid April ... but who knows?

yes yes EVO is what I'm really into but now to change the main question a bit to the other question

Which model and why?
I'm not going to get a RS, But then the regular version or the MR is the question

The MR has 6 speed which is very nice but then not alot of people own it so there might not be as many mods for it, that's what i think

the regular version is what everone has and there are mods for it but if price wasnt a factor then what would everyone get.

now since price is a factor, then what to get?

and is the MR worth that extra price?

Man one question gets answered and here I pop up with 10 million more

6spd is nice but not needed in drag racing and small autoX courses. Mods are all the same, throughout the models. Regular Evo is often called GSR so you know . If you really want an all out race evo go with rs, it has no power options other than that its all race. You should read up on some faqs

MR I guess has the better options, better re-sale valuve. But imo if your short on cash dont force yourself to get it

^ i dont think i'll want to resale the evo so in that case the mr isnt really that big of a deal huh

RS is just lacking the basic options which i want and the GSR is one that has almost everything

the MR is like because of the vortex generator but i can always buy it from here

now to go bug mitsu dealers, it sucks that there is only 1 dealer here that's close to me, 20 miles away and they are kinda not the trust worthy type =/

i'll have to do a lot of emailing to other dealerships that are further away

I take that back, go test drive the MR and the GSR and just get whichever one feels best for you.

I have a evo. Love my evo. Would never bash my evo. BUT. If worried about moddifing. I would def. go corvette. Who said they get bad gas mileage. Look it up. THey will get gas mileage as good as the evo. I really don't know if you are talking about getting the new IX's gas mileage . But if you get a c5 zo6, I seriously doubt that a evo would destroy it in anything, especially 1/4, and Even in the autocross I think it would be a good race. just my .02

Test drive everything in your list that is available new. Then make your decision.

You're floating around enough forums you should be able to figure out what you like and don't like about each vehicle, their potential for modding, and any potential problems they may have. If you look around enough you won't have to ask what people think because these forums are full of opinions.

Good luck.
