Common evo problem= Bad piston must read (Pics)
I dont know why the shop would say that evos haev weak pistons. The evo 4g63 is one of the strongest engines arround. people are making over 500whp on stock block with no issues. Bad tune, bad gas = blown motor.
Well your problem is that you were detonating. Simple as that. I can tell just by the pics. You need to have good tuning and run high octane. And please get a wbo2. This is just common sense. Evos engines are forged. They dont have weak pistons. You really have to be doing something stupid to blow an engine. The heads valvtrain is even steel which is very strong. The only weakness in the engine is the studs, rings, and bearings. The only reason why the stock block is finicke over 500hp is because the pistons werent coated.

Thats funny cause I have heard the exact opposite from those same compaines you just mentioned not to mention Buschur, vishnu, perin, warrtalon, and many other non average joes. They all have told me and also from personal experience that the stock evo engine is good for 500hp not to metnion did you just read my other post about the evo's engine?

i know that a evo with stock pistons and rods can suport 500whp i know becasue ive been told by the same people. plus every car is differant and you know that not every car here is going to act the same way and you know that. i was there when jose rivera hit 469 on a stock block so dont tell me i dont know what im talking about. And as far as warton or whatever his name is when he gets his evo with 500whp on stock turbo and doesnt have any problems with the block then tell him to talk.

The shop that did the tune with the AEM is giveing me a big break with the install on the new parts and tune becasue of the simple fact that i can go to town on there shop just by takeing them to court. And for the people that dont know what i mean by that pick up a book and learn you laws.

Also you say you have a wbo2 well which one is it? Also have you taken this beast to the track yet? What are your times? Hp means nothing if you cant use it. I could have a car with the most hp in the world but it means nothing if I cant use it.
Your full of crap....... If this was your only car, and u KNEW you had a 'half-***' tune, why did you go full-throttle? That is the only way you blew this engine....... You didnt detonate and cause this damage while driving normal........ So, it's not the shops fault, it's yours.
