nice times, looking forward to the slips..

was the wrx stock? because if it was, than of course you are going to walk on it. 227hp vs 271 ....hmmmm, pretty easy to figure that out.

if it was not stock, than the driver was not that good at the 1/4. i don't know why everyone gets off trying to compare the EVO to the wrx. it isnt really a great match up......

Nice going Sano! Those are excellent times for a stock car on pump gas! Just add an intake, exhaust, hold the boost constant and you're going to need to ware a Helmet!

Having fun with you car and doing it safely at the track. Nicely done!

[B]I am surprised your track let you run your IC sprayer. Most i know of won't allow racers to drop any liquid on the track... that's nice for Evos & STis (and other cars with IC sprayers)

I don't think they knew about it. I had it on auto, but I never can hear it.
Question?
Shifting in this car is fast, how in the heck are you able to drive, shift, and hold down the manual spray switch. I have read all the IC spray posts and none of them really anwser that.

It was an early 90's old beaner. I killed him off the line(even missing 2nd) than he came back with an extreame vengence. Had to have the button. Had some big fat tubbs on the back, I knew it was fast. He had a clean run though I don't think he could do much better. My friends that went though were surprised!

There was a jeep there that ran a low 16 it was pretty funny

My best 60' without a missed shift was a 2.0 and that run was 13.8 @ 99.6 or something like that. Afterwards I've consistently hit 1.8 60' times but missed the 1-2 shift so didn't get my 13.5 I should hit. What are your shift points and are you powershifting.
I don't know I will post the full slips monday, The track isn't that fast. on my 13.68 run I was taking it to 7200-7300 every shift. But thats my point, if I can get my 60ft times to 1.8 that will be my 13.5!! I don't know about it not adding, I am not fibbing at all. I will post the slips

I made a big deal about it beacause all the dyno talk is saying that we don't have that much over the wrx, and that the sti is out of the evo's league. They were saying that the evo was made to battle the wrx, and the sti is for the mythical ralli art version. Supposedly the evo is losing somthing like 100 hp on the dyno, making it not much more powerful at the wheels than the wrx.

I don't care if this car is putting down 100 hp at the wheels, it still halls *****. and the wrx should go race civics.

nice times for the under 14 seconds slips! I feel your pain on some of those 14.5 slips....that does make you feel stoopid. Aweful 60' times... I was getting 2.0 in my mustang cobra just 2 weeks ago.

I will have to take mine to the track ASAP.

Not bad runs. Your 60 ft needs ro drop below 2.0 sec.

Yep, I expected the Evo to run about the same as a stock C5 vette (13.5 to 13.9). Don't worry about F-body V8's. They usually run 13.8 to 14.5 from slightly modded to stocker.

Did the Evo has any top end power left? With the short gear ratio, it should be topping its gear out.

I'm curious, with those 60ft times how are you launching?....... My eclipse was hitting 1.8 60ft on a slipping clutch. Last time I dropped my evo's clutch it grabbed like hell then bogged, and that was at 6 grand. My eclipse at that rpm would spin for days......

Ok.. I'm not the only one having trouble finding that sweet spot for launching.. If you launch at about 6200 RPM, it "SHOULD" drop to around 3600rpm when you dump the clutch, which means it is in a RPM range where the engine is making enough torque to launch the car without bogging.. But take that with a grain of salt.. Of 5 launches I attempted, I bogged on 3... and that damn 1-2 shift is killing me.. I've missed the shift twice..

Oh, and I've also done the V8 S10 swap.. very easy to do.. No mods except for motor mounts and headers.. Everything else is typical swap, some electrical. driveshaft, etc.. the S-10 front end is similar to my Malibu, which can pretty much accomodate any V8 engine.
