evo rear crash beam pics
This isn't a weight saving issue, it is a safety issue.
The US has much stricter safety requirements so our reinforcement beam is larger then those overseas
I would rather run a "less safe" reinforcement beam then non at all

You should beable to. However, it really depends on the mounting location and the shape of the bumper.
On my ep3 (2002 Civic Si) I had to mount the jdm reinforcement beam partially above the USDM mounting location. Is it as safe, no; is it safer then nothing, yes.

I think a lot of people dont get it. This is something you ALREADY have on your USDM bumper!!! This is not a crash bar at all. Take your stock bumper out and you will find the reenforcement bar in it. The different of the usdm and jdm reenforcement bar is the usdm on have a licience plate bracket weld into it. Jeez people are so quick to jump on the band wagon when they dont even know what they are look at....

I was just thinking if it is a crash bar....not just a bumper reinforcement....and a lighter than usdm crash bar...for those of us that race and want drive on the street. It might not have been bad to replace it to lose a few pounds for relatively cheap.
Follow what I am saying? So...anything removed from the bumper that is dead weight and not needed (or replacing with a lighter weight part)...that is reducing unsprung weight.

OK, we have the rear bumper support updated on our site with the new price from a US distributor and price-adjusted refunds on the way to the three individuals who purchased them at the UK distributor cost.
I'm working on getting a part number and price on the crash beam. Please give me a day or two until I hear back from our UK distributor. Thanks for the link to Mitsuparts.net, it helped us out alot!
