Brake problem.

I did some searching and found some good info. Just wanted to check to see if anyone else had this exact problem and what they did about it.

On the test drive with my 2003 evo about a week and a half ago the brakes started making the loudest squeeling noise ive ever heard. I bought the car and took it in when the service dept was open 2 days later. They resurfaced the front rotors, replaced the calipers and pads and told me to give them about 300 miles the break em in. I went easy on them but the next day the same problem started up. I brought the car back today and they checked out the brakes, replaced the pads again and then as i was pulling into my driveway i heard the squeeling again.

I did a little searching and found that some people may have had a similar problem and that after the 300 mile break in period if i do a couple hard braking runs it should solve the problem.

I'm gonna try this this time but after the initial 300 miles the first time i did do some pretty heavy breaking which only resulting in an even more ear piercing noise while they were heated up.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this problem and any ideas other than doing some heavy breaking after 300 miles?

These are race brakes, not lexury car brakes.

They squek and such when going slow speeds (out of driveway, parking lot).

They squek more when my rims and brakes are dirty with brake dust.

I have the same problem. Seems like they went away after a few very hard stops. 100mph+ stops.....

I had the break pads replaced once aswell as the front rotors. The local dealer told me on my first rotor replacement that Mitsu only covers the rotors one time.

The sqeek will go away! it could take longer if you are easy on the breaks. On the other hand the rotors on the Evo's suck so eventualy you will wrap rotors.

ok thats kinda what i thought, but i've been around a few evos and have never heard this, it is ridiculously loud. Ill give it 300 miles and then do some hard stops and see what happens. Ill also try and clean out any brake dust.

I have 6k miles and still squeel intermittently. Comes with the territory, most of my past cars did the same.....only when slowing to a stop.....without getting on the brakes hard.

I know squeeking comes with the high perf. brakes but if i could get a sound clip of this you'd wanna kill yourself. When i say it is ridiculously loud i mean RIDICULOUSLY LOUD. I pull up to a stoplight and unless i stomp the brakes i get a howl so long and so loud people everywhere turn to look and not becuase it's an evo lol
