Smile ECUtek Proves Itself!

Ok guys, im gonna just pretend that the thread started yesterday just doesnt even exist. So lets start the slate clean, and again my apologies for all that commotion. Anyways... just letting all you guys out there know that I did get alot of help from sean tuning my car yesterday with ECUtek. I can now eliminate my afc bc all my tuning goes straight through my factory ecu. My best previous numbers were 354AWHP and 360AWTQ, after messing with the program for only a small amount of time, i was up at 364AWHP and 406AWTQ . It works Great and doesnt take very much time at all to program, and im not done messing with it yet. Still stock turbo,no cams, stock header, but i am running alky wich helps alot too. Throw me your thoughts, and try not to bring the old thread into this, im trying to keep it positive.

Seems like great numbers on the stock turbo without cams. What are your mods?

the alky was already there. With the afc you control both fuel delivery and timing both at the same time. With the ECUtek, you control them seperatly so you can look at your graph, figure out where adjustments need to be made, and then adjust for each spot individually. Its very nice and easy, i would def recommend it. So far i have:
Hyperdrive Digital Alky Injection, 660cc injectors, 3" TBE, Air Filter, UICP, BOV, ECUtek tuning, and a Hyperdrive C1 Clutch. Thats it!

what are your afr's and timing set to? Sounds like a really agressive tune and I assume you are getting a large boost spike down low to get that torque number up.
That much HP and TQ without cams. I dont know....lets see a dyno sheet.

Timing probably gave all that extra torque, or maybe a boost spike.. unless it held steady

In your other thread you mentioned that your boost was spiking to 35 and holding at 31psi. Given your mod list, how are you accomplishing this?

His AFRs are very lean in the low RPMs and the WG line is pinched off to give max boost - this is where the big torque is coming from. The turbo won't last long like this, though, and his likelihood of damaging the engine is quite high.

At 3500 rpm, his AFR is a whopping 13.0:1, then it falls to 12.1:1 by 4krpm, then rises back to 12.2-12.3 until 5k rpm where it finally drops back to 12.0. From 5700-7700, it's around 11.5, which is fine, but that super-lean tune from 3500-5000 will probably cause some engine/turbo failure in the near future.

Oh, and the boost he's referring to is as seen on his boost gauge, not with a MAP sensor logging true boost. It probably spikes to 29-30 and falls to 22 by redline. My gauge reads 30psi peak, but I really don't go any higher than 26psi when I log it with a MAP sensor. Sean Glazar's stock turbo drops to 17psi at redline in 4th gear when he hits his 11.5s-11.6s...

Why would running super-lean cause failure in the near failure?

It looks like he is injection a lot of water or methanol or mix; as long as the injection system does not fail and he is tuned for it, what else could cause failure?

Blkevo8: what are you injecting and at what flow rate? Also, it like a non-progressive, on/off system?

That must be a lot of boost, must feel like a rocket. Pretty trick tune, I hope she holds together.
