Can you talk a little about the Motec system you've installed? Which model is it? Where did you get it? Did you acquire a custom harness or are they making them for the IX now? Are you going MAP or is it still MAF-based? Sorry if I missed this info in another thread ...

Awesome project ... thanks!

The Motec system is new they have the harness for the IX and i got it with Dan at Pruven Performance, dont know the exact details on what mapping it using , but i know its better than just flashing. I should of gone this route a long time ago instead of taking the long cut to get the job done right.

Great car and numbers so far, can't wait to see how much power you are making with the stand alone over the flash on a IX.

That's a LOT of stuff to clamp onto an Evo IX! Someone's gotta have a fat checkbook and has been super busy. G/L with it all!

Well if the 540WHP was on pump, or even a mixture of pump gas and race fuel, then if you go to straight race gas I don't see why your car wouldn't hit 700WHP. Honestly the sky's the limit, your car is making so much power so fast it's ridiculous. I've been at this website a long time, and read many EVO build ups, and yours is definitly ahead of many EVOs I've seen come a long with builds. I mean if you really wanted to, I don't see 900WHP+ being a problem especially with a GT42R Turbo. I mean sh*t your only on one aftermarket Cam. But I guess we will wait and see.

Neat setup but it is a damned shame that this will be a street car.

Well that will be very interesting to see (track times) but launching such a beast will be no easy task, will take practice and more than one drag strip apperance to get it right. Or you could always let a more experienced big power EVO driver have a shot at it.

what motec model did u use? is there a special set of cams for the mivec engine or did u have to disable the mivec at the intake valves?

why would i even think about a system that is not gonna use Mivec when that where the technology is i wanna benifit from the valve timming turning it off is like i should just stay with a 8.

It will probably one of the first Evo ix with this stand alone , as far as i heard this one is a custom stand alone and it should just plug and play.
