PIC, dont worry Yodo is WRONG. Heres how it is...
IF buy a car from South Coast Mitsu and want to fly out and drive home, then you HAVE to pay CA tax, but you dont have to pay tax in your home state, only registation (you won't have to pay regestation in CA)
Or
You can buy one and have them ship it to you, then you just pay your home states tax and reg. fees. You also have to pay shipping cost, of course.
You Only Have to pay tax ONCE.
If you don't believe me call Mark @ South Coast Mitsu, he'll tell you the same.
I'm so amazed at how people are horrible shoppers.
You pay taxes in your state when you register it, no tax in Cali. ****, Michigan forgot to get me to pay taxes when i bought my 03'.

There is no way around it...Its California Law guys if you drive the car home with you CA sales tax needs to be paid......
This Topic is been discuss on another thread already and its been proven that there is no way around it.....
You wont be charge double tax sometimes if your salestax is lower you can get a refund but that depends on your state, now if your tax rate is higher you will have to pay the difference..
if you want call this number bellow...
CALIFORNIA STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION there number is 714-558-4059 or 1-800-400-7115 its the CA STATE LAW guys...
If you take the delivery of the car from the dealership and planning to drive the car you will have to pay for CA TAX..

(You don't pay tax in your home state if you pay in CA)
If you'll let them ship it to you, then you pay your home state's tax.
Its the "drive it home" part that matters. You can fly out there and look and pick one out and if you ship it , you pay your home state's tax. If you drive the car away you have to pay CA tax.

Hmm.. I didn't have to pay for the sale tax when I bought my used EVO from private, does that mean my city doesn't have auto sale tax?
If so, does it mean I can get the RS for $26,xxx + shipping charge + registration fees and thats it!?
Tempting...

WIthout getting into this tax bs, I wanted to let anyone on here know SRT is indeed the real deal. I just bought a IX MR two days ago from sam.
31,999
And he gave me a pretty damn good price on the 05 VIII I traded in.
