Oh thats true. But I find no need for the roof/6spd/wheels right now so the MR would not benefit me.

And that's why it's great that we have multiple choices. I do have a use for a lower center of gravity, awesome stock suspension, super lightweight forged rims, and a 6spd that gives me more usable power on the road course.

With the argument of wheel horsepower and cost savings, why not buy a mustang?

What do you mean by "much better coil overs"?. My guess is that to get a better suspension than the stock MR you'll have to spend at least $3K on parts alone and then you have to spend mucho bucks in installation and tuning... Even then you'll not have the same ride as the stock MR . Why do so many people have a fixation on slammed, hard riding cars?

Anyway, why do you want power mods and upgraded racing suspension? Are you sure you can already drive beyond the capacity of the MR? My guess is that you cannot even drive the regular stock EVO to its limit. Of course, I might be wrong, please post proof of your driving prowess and I'll apologize in public

Fwiw, I know I can't push the stock MR suspension to its limits, which is why I haven't upgraded it yet.

You don't even have to get a Mustang. A first or second gen Miata with a FM turbo kit and suspension upgrades will destroy a stock EVO (or even some modified ones) in the dragstrip and the track.... $3K~$5K Miata plus $6K~$8K in mods = $9K ~ $13K Miata guaranteed to own $29K~$36K stock EVO or even some modified ones......

When it comes to resale do you think there will be a $4000 difference between the 9 and MR's when they start to appear used or is the MR likley to loose more money ? ? ?
Thanks for any help...
MarK.
Here is an awesome article that compares all 3 trims of the EVOs. Althought you're looking for a IX, this should give you some idea and hopefully help you decide. Good luck...

Have you seen evidence of it being weaker? I haven't.

I can push the stock evo to it's limits, not that hard chief. Please dont assume things about me since you have no idea who I am, thanks.

Then please tell us. How are we supposed to know if you don't enlighten us? As stated, I have yet to maximize the utility of the stock MR suspension. It has been good enough for me to win several races, some of which were pure domination. Yes, I know most of that has to do with the other drivers not being that good, but I still learn something new each time about how to better drive and utilize my Evo's suspension. At what point and after which accomplishment did you start outdriving the stock suspension? I'm curious to know so that I will know when it's time to upgrade mine.

It sure does look like a debate class, you are the perfect example of what happens when your arguments are worthless. You cannot prove anything you say in a rational way so you resort to ad-hominem ..... Oh yeah, I don't talk ****. I leave that to those who cannot express themselves intelligently.

Idiots don't twist your posts. Your posts are twisted right out of your keyboard. Sorry about your EVO turning out out to be a POS. Still, that does not give you the license to spew garbage, hate and unsupported arguments. If you cannot discuss things in a civil way you degrade everything to your level. Grow up!

I don't see any proof of your driving abilities. All I read is a bunch of hostile, sophmoric comments. Oh yes, Mr. great driver, I'm supposed to know from your brilliant elucidations that you have already driven the stock EVO MR past it's limits?

Another thing, comparing a "girl" to an object such as a car shows a remarkable facet of your personality. Do you know the meaning of "objectifying women"?

I know this is off topic, but that's interesting.
