I think once you get in that 450whp+ range you'll need to do a few things to the engine in order for it to safely sustain that kind of power. You'll also need some sort of EMS. With just some bigger cams, bigger fuel injectors, and a fuel pump I think a quick spooling (3.5k-4.3k RPM's) 400whp on pump is a reasonable goal to set. At least that's what I'm shooting for. The bigger turbos enable you to keep up with some of the exotics out there, but something like a well tuned 3071 or 50 trim will still blow the doors off 99% of what's out there at a fraction of the overall cost.

Loaded question, and this should've been a poll. But I vote for the GT3071R.

I have the turbotrix 50 trim. It made 430 on straight pump and 480+ on pump/meth.

I am extremely happy with it and would reccommend it as the ultimate street turbo if you want great power with decent spool up. I get 30 pounds before 4500 and rev hard past 8000 and the whole time it pulls and pulls........and pulls.....

470 on pump alone... yeah ok. Anyone in NYC who wants a ride in the missle. Let me know. You will see how this 3076r performs. Did I mentioned I have a .82 backhousing.

Any 30R series turbo or bigger. If lag is an issue than just downshift. Lag is definatly over rated!

Thanks. Yeah my evo is the perfect street car, but I run pump race gas. Here are a couple of old pics for those who have not seen.

Wow, that's absolutely beautiful. One of the cleanest engine compartments I've seen.
