Hmmmm....Im not too sure what they do. The car I had before my EVO had gotten a rock chip when i was driving behind a dump truck. I was too lazy to fix it, and eventually it spidered out. Nothing huge, but enough to bother me, and by then I just got a new winshield. Bottom line, if it can be fixed, do it before it gets worse

here's an link to the repair stuff....
My look exactly like the one in the 2nd pic...so I think it might be repairable, if not NEW windsheild...it did not even last me a month yet from dealer

all that repair stuff is just a band aide for the problem...

the only way to really replace it is to get a new windsheild...

it's that way in MA too, BUT the chip/crack needs to be the size of a dollar bill <- actual rule

I had a small rock chip in my windshield drilled and filled a little over a year ago. Haven't had an issue with it since. It is important to get it fixed as soon as possible. I had mine fixed the same day it happened. I think it cost me $30 or $40.

They patched mine and it came out bad. It increased in width of the crack and the edges didn't get any epoxy in them so they still look like a crack. The rest of it looks distorted when you look through it. I'm sure it was just that the guy who did it did a crap job. I'm getting the windshield replaced today. FYI they are on backorder.

hmm.. it has been working fine for my car.. it has been over a year now.. no problem in the hot summer and the freezing winter in chicago... the chip never spreads... should give this $20 fix a try before replacing the entire windshield..
