I would get an MBC and fuel pump instead. Same price, more fun. So... I guess no, and everyone keeps on saying the the motor mounts instead. Although I haven't done that yet, but I got a really good deal on my damper, so that's why I got it.

Definitely no reason to do it. My guess is you'd be doing it for looks, right? I can't think of any other reason, when the same effect could be done by getting a front motor mount that is not visible while costing over $100 less.

Just upgrade your engine mounts, no need for a "stiffy".

I have just a front mount and have developed slight cabin noise. I have heard using the stiffy and front mount work very very well.... so I bit the bullet and bought the Stiffy. I cant tell you motormounts arent cheaper... but the stiffy should be a very very easy install for a product that gets such rave reviews.

It doesn't really get rave reviews. People just think it looks cool. It doesn't really do much, especially over time as it wears out. The stiffy is a bandaid for the soft front motor mount. Just replace the motor mount, but there's no reason to worry about either of them on a stock Evo.

The nice part about the "stiffy" is that you have the ability to adjust it. I am very happy with mine. Shifting under hard acceleration is smoother now. The one thing that I do not like is the fact the it offsets the force on the motor mounts.

I couldn't disagree more.

It does get rave reviews, Warrtalon. The Search button at the upper right will aid you in your discovery of this fact.

I'm very anti-bling and purchased the Ingalls Stiffy for purely functional purposes. It has performed admirably.

The engines in stock Evos torque as well. Many people who have installed this ETD have said that Mitsu should have put this on the Evo from the factory. The car immediately feels much more solid, especially during shifts (at any RPM).

My thoughts from another post:
"It's also handy to be able to remove the ETD entirely if you so choose. For instance, I live in California and when the smog check guys pop my hood, the fewer visible modifications, the better (yes, I realize this is not a distinct advantage over the mount). Also, what if you don't like the motor mount mod? How easy is it to go back to stock? If you don't like the ETD, you simply take it off and sell it....or just keep it around for track days.

In short, the options inherent to the ETD make it a far better buy (to me) than the upgraded motor mount. If anything, it can be used as a first step into securing the engine -- to be followed by the upgraded mount for even greater stability. I've had mine (Ingalls ETD) for several months, and agree with those who have said that the Evo should have come with one from the factory."

All good points! Also if the Stiffy is such a bad idea and just bling then why did HONDA just put a ETD in the new SI in the same spot Ingalls mounts theres in the rsx. I belive the ETD world is new so some are not to sure. I say take the risk you will be glad you did

+1 I should have bought motor mounts in the beginning cuz after 5 trackdays(road course) my TD (Stillway) was toast. Metal bracket cracked. $200 down the drain
I have since track my car without the TD no diffrence at all.
