Downpipe help......

Hello,
I need help deciding on a downpipe. I unfortunately bought a downpipe from Logic performance and it does not fit! It contacts the oil pan and the cusco cross car brace I installed. They will not take back thier DP, or fix it, so I need to get a new downpipe. I want to buy a new DP that is an exact fit to the stock O2 housing and donut gasket and will be 3" diameter. I also have a test pipe and Greddy SP-II from the test pipe back. I also don't want to pay exhorbitant amounts of $$$. So does anyone know an exact fit DP that gives space to the oil pan and cross car frame? between $100-$250?

Thanks,
Tim

Tim...I have no idea why you wouldn't research something like this before spending all that money. Please check out this thread. You've been here long enough to know how to search.

I just recently bought the V2 Helix 3" downpipe for $200. Fits great and performs well. The first version had fitment issues so they fixed that and now there is the version 2. It clears your crossmembers, oil pan, and diff. I have a IX by the way. I bought it from Gruppe S and recieved it within a week. It's also a very polished up piece with good build quality.

I took a look at the downpipe thread earlier and wasn't too satisfied with the thread. I get one person saying it fits and another saying it won't. I just want straight shooting answers is all.

Really gotta call or email the vendor first. Depending on the size of the downpipe (2.5" - 3") and the Evo trim there will be different options. A lot of 3" downpipes will have fitment issues on ACD equipped Evos and MR models. FWIW...I have a 70mm Tanabe DP on my '05 RS running to a 3" HFC and 3" RSR ExMag exhaust. I'm not sure about the MR, but this setup will clear any VIII RS or VIII GSR regardless of the year.

+1 for the Helix dp. It fits perfectly to the stock O2 housing and does not contact any of the crossmembers. Just make sure it's the V.2 which I think is all of them by now. You can get it at Gruppe-S or many other online vendors.

Jeff - You have an Evo VIII, mine is a IX. So, there is a difference there!
