Engine ticking

Ok, long story as short as possible:

engine threw a rod bearing, I got the dealorship to cover under warranty luckily. They replaced the short block, as soon as it was given back, it threw the main thrust bearing. They rebuilt it, as soon as they restarted it, it threw the main thrust bearing again. They then put another new short block in and I finally got the car back. Now, less than 5k miles later the ECU was throwing CEL for misfires, I changed the plugs and wires to try to solve the problem, no deal. Then the engine started making a ticking noise. At 1st it was only after the car was warmed up and over 4k rpm. then it got to around 2k rpm.

Took it to the dealor, the replaced the water pump, not it. The took the head off and sent to a machine shop, they said it was perfect, they then replaced all the lifters and put it back together. At 1st they thought the ticking was gone, but it is still there and now between 1k-1500 RPM, but still only after the car is warmed up.

The dealor is stumped and I was hoping someone on here may be able to help out, not sure if this has happened to anyone before. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions I can pass on to the dealor? they have had it for over 3 weeks now, i would really like to get it back soon.

TIA

I had not noticed any ticking before, nor had I ever had anything more than a little lifter tick with my GSX.

Trying to keep the story as short as possible I forgot to mention that this was all accompanied by massive loss of power right before I brought it in. The dealor blamed the CEL and power loss on the ECU needing to be reflashed, they took care of that but haven't had the car back to test to see if that was fixed.

Also if it helps, it is bone stock except the clutch, Exedy HD twin disk and has approx 42k miles on it.

If they only replaced the short block the ticking would probably be a head issue like valve tapping I looking into getting those adjusted.

Thanks, I will look into it cause they have also had it for about 2 months in a calendar year, which another lemon law criteria I believe.

They believe it to be a head issue as well, cyl. 1 to be exact, but they sent it to a machine shop who found nothing wrong and also replaced all the valves. A new head is 1 of the next possible steps.

I told them to begin with when it spun a bearing, they should just drop a new motor in and call it a day, I am sure they wish they had listened to me at this point... heh
