Suggestions about buying my first evo
I just wanted to ask you guys the kinds of common problems evos tend to have and what I should be looking for when checking out this evo I am interested in buying? I was wondering if there are any recall parts I should make sure it has or any work done that should have been done already? I test drove it yesterday and it was awesome. The transmission/clutch are working great, no rattles or strange noises, basically nothing i could find wrong at all. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
car specs:
2003 Evo 8
25,000 miles
$23,000 price
new tires
new brakes
new transfer case at 17,000 (replaced by warrantee)

Wait until september to see if the 0% finance comes round on the IX and then get an RS for under 30K out the door. Speak to south coast mitsu on this board for their prices, they are well low.
If you can wait that long, buy a low miles 05 for ~
25K

We just had someone else ask the same question this morning and he was already told to go look at the same thread that was made earlier this week. That guy was also told to look at the 1000 other threads in the past that asked this same question. Please do some research first as the rules require, then formulate more specific questions.
Lastly, you can join us at RMEvo.com (rocky mountain) to get more localized help, too. Btw, you probably don't want to spend 23k on an 03 now that they are 3 years old, have the most issues, have the least value, have the least features, and when the 05s/06s don't cost much more. That's just my opinion...

Dude , if someone has had to change your transfer case.... YOUR TRANSFER CASE.... it probably wasn't the best car to begin with. Get soemthing newer if you can afford it, i wouldn't buy it.... but thats just my opinion.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Unfortunately i can't afford anymore than 23,000 right now . I really like the car and i hope i dont have problems with it, I still have the b2b warrantee and drive train. It is at the dealership today getting looked over by one of their mechanics to make sure e verything is in line and good to go. I will probably sell it a few years after i get out of college and get a ix, but i think it will be awesome to run with till then. Thanks for ya'lls imput!

How will it still have the warranty when it's only 3yr/36k miles. The 03s are over 3 years old unless bought in late 03. Even then, there's not much time left on the warranty.
5YRS 60 ON Drivetrain.
