Wow, why does everyone always insist on bringing in the drama? If it isn't relevant to the thread, DON'T POST! Just like this, I shouldn't even be posting it, but this ****'s getting on my damned nerves!

Ive spent more money on tuners, then on mods.
Not including tuners, I have ~$3300 in mods(including installation), which includes:
-Perrin TBE + cat delete
-264/272 cams
-AVC-R EBC
-Walbro Fuel Pump
-Perrin Fuel Rail
-Base flash

No idea what my 1/4 mile time will be yet. Before the cams and base flash I had a best run of 13.001 at 108mph with a 1.9 60ft. This was all done with a UTEC, tuned locally.

Good reading! I've got a new MR on the way and will probably keep it stock for awhile, except for audio. I'm amazed to see how much people are spending on these rides, but, that's the passion I guess. I thought I'd keep my Subie stock but spent over 2K for Stg Two and some wheels...
Still, my MR WILL be my "daily driver" and warranty preservation will be important for awhile. If I really need to run 11's, all's I gotta do is jump in the snake, anyway.
****e, for what some of you have put into your EVOs, you could be in a Viper!
(Not saying you may not be faster in your EVOs! )

And just think.... I still need a motor, head, different intercooler and piping, different rims, slicks, I will modify the doors (Or switch to carbon ones). Then do some more weight savings on it and I should finally be done before I swap turbos.

Yep man, some of us have it bad. And some of us have always had it. It is a disease (but a good one, I think)

My earliest memory of this affliction is when I was about 12 year old with radio controlled cars. I got a basic RC truck (BlackFoot) for my B-day. Over the next year I bought every hop-up part I could find - oil shocks, batteries, motors, speed control, lsd, wheels tires to make that the baddest truck I could afford. I never quite could afford that CNC'd billet aluminum frame . . .

Later, the modding continued when I got a mountain bike. I got it when I went to college to ride to class. Then I really started riding and racing them. The $400 Trek was no longer good enough. So I got a Cannondale with a front shock for about $700. Within 2 years I had spent over FOUR times as much money on aftermarket lighter-faster-better parts than what the bike originally cost. The only stock parts left on it are the shock and frame. It still hangs in my garage as a reminder . . .

Then I got out of college and got a real job. That's when the real money started to fly. I got into racing quads. Bought a Yamaha Raptor for about $6500. I competed for a couple seasons on the GNCC series, MX, sand drags, you name it. Never did well because I am overweight and out of shape. Those 2-hour GNCC endurance races were he!!. But they were fun. Anyway, in that 2 and 1/2 years I spent over 3 times the cost of the quad on parts once again to make it lighter, faster, stronger, etc. Only the frame and the bottom end of the engine remains original.

Now it looks like I'm heading down that same path with the EVO. You know, this modding addiction is just like a gambling addiction, except instead of saying "Just one more bet, then I'll be done", we are saying "Just one more part . . ." or "Just another 3mph in the 1/4 . . . ", or "Just another 1/2 second on the AX course . . . then I'll be done."

But we all know that "being done" with the car will never happen. It can't happen. There are only 2 ways to be done - you either sell the car or you crash the car.

But then we just get to start over again with a new project . . .

In order they were added...

Alpine Deck and JL speakers: $800
Omnifi MP3 changer: $300
K&N drop-in filter: $50
JDM MR BOV: $100
RS*R ExMag Exhaust: $400
EcuTek flash and dyno-tune: $700
Tanabe DP: $250
High Flow Cat: $250
Another flash and dyno-tune: $200
Rota Slipstream wheels: $600

Damn. More than $3.5k. That doesn't include any installation costs, new brakes or new tires either..
