My Evo IX owner's manual tells you how to program it yourself. Sounds easy.

Remember, if you have 2 keys, it's easy to program a 3rd key. In fact, you can do it yourself. However, if you only have 1 keys, you can't program it yourself. You need to take it to the dealer.

Something like that happened to my parent's lexus and they charged them $300+ for another key.

ouch. i'm now realizing the maintenence costs on my car can be excessively high. oh well, i've wanted one since 8th grade, now i have it.... the heII with it! i still love it!

curiousity, but why did you only get one key? they would usually throw you two when you first buy one unless you lost the other.
