hid one side is not as bright

i've just installed a hid kit in my evo 9 and i've noticed that the right side is alot dimmer than the left side.
Just wondering would putting a grounding kit solve this problem.

I highly doubt putting a grounding kit in would take care of the problem. You might contact the manufactuar and ask them if its normal which every hid kit that i have had and ive had several it shouldnt be like that!!!!! JIt might even be a problem wikth the ballast!!

my car is a rhd one. u're probably right it might the bulbor ballast.
bit odd that they both lit up though, looking head on they look just as bright but at night u could tell that only the left one is actually litting up the road.

i also tested it out by unplugging the left side and only using the right one. i couldn't really see anything on the road even though it was on.

Did you change the headlight out at the same time, or did you just add the bulbs, ballast, etc? Reason i ask is, HID's need some sort of projector (not just any factory projector) to cut the light beam, project a clear beam and such. Check the aiming against a white wall and see if it is off, or a different color and what not. A guy on here, posted a similar question about his kit. See if you can find it. Or maybe someone else will link it.

There is a write up in the how to's section on how to add true HID's to non HID.

put the car against a wall and see if they are leveled the same....maybe its aiming toward the ground too much, so it appears to be dimmer.... that would be my best guess

i've line it against the wall and also even line it even higher than the left side but it made no diff.
it's an actual hid kit with ballast ignitor and bulb
